i drank about 4-5 cans of beer the other day so if i have diabeties wouldnt i have been ill after that?????

No. I have diabetes and drinking just makes me drunk. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't necessarily make you sick, if you manage your blood sugar properly. In fact, I've read a couple of articles that say drinking puts your liver into a detox mode taking it out of the glucagon conversion mode so that your blood sugar actually goes down when you drink. I would not, however, recommend it on a regular basis or for someone having problems maintaining healthy blood glucose levels.
The only way to be sure if you have diabetes is with comprehensive testing by a doctor.

No not necessarily.
if you think you got sugar you should be checked out by a doc. You can have low sugar or high sugar both with different effects .You can also buy sugar testers at the drug store.They would probability cost more than going to the doc though.

before you asked the question i believe you must have strange feelings or symptoms.Beer on it's own can not cause diabetes but, if you have family history of diabetes or pre-diabetes it might make you have type 2 earlier in your life,so my advice is let there be moderation in everything you do.

you know beer is not the best way to determine if you have diabetes. go to your doctor and find out the right way.
