well yesterday i was at the mall and when i went to a store all of a sudden my hands started getting very itchy and it was painful then they started getting VERY swollen and red. this is the first time it happens to me but that usually happens to my sister when she goes to a big store(especially department stores) and as soon as she gets out the itch stops and the swelling start goings away...so my question is...Am i allergic to something that is in the store? or to dirty things?

I often hear from people I know and meet about their allergy prick test expirience. All of them have told me that they had the allergy prick test done on their back. However, when I look up photos of allergy prick test on the internet most of the photos show the test is often done on the right forearm and occaisionally the left forearm. When exactly do they do the allergy prick test on the forearm instead of the back?

Flower allergy sufferers -- what types of flowers are you least allergic to?

I am getting married next June and have a bridesmaid who is allergic to many types of flowers (like lilies and wildflowers). I still want to use real flowers in my wedding, if possible. I was planning to go with an English wildflower wedding theme. What types of flowers could I consider using in her bouquet? (I have heard sometimes that if all the pollen is removed from the flowers, this prevents many allergic reactions.)

I'd love to hear from people who have air purifiers and are happy with their performance. I'm especially interested in non-HEPA types. Also, has anyone tried Eden Pure brand?

What am i allergic to? Sometimes a wake up and i'm ruined for the day, i sneeze and "itch" inside the nose and i feel weak the entire day, it never goes away during the day, i always have these allergy symptoms for the entire day. When this happens i can pretty much tell from the first moments when i wake up, if i'm going to be like this during the day. If i wake up and i feel good, then most probably nothing will happen. What can this be? P.s. There is no pet in the house.

I want to get a cute kitten for my 1 yr. old and my 4.5 yr old. Not to mention I want one too..lol!! Is there a pill or something I could take for the mild hives, sneezing, itchy-watery eyes, itchy throat that I get from cats?? There's got to be something! But I don't want crazy side effects either. Do I have to go to a doctor? Does the medicine relieve the allergies completely?

for those who dont know
Oral Allergy Syndrome or OAS is an allergic reaction to certain (usually fresh) fruits, nuts, and vegetables. The allergy is not actually an allergy to food but a syndrome that develops in hay fever sufferers. The immune system mistakes the food proteins for the pollen proteins and causes an allergic reaction. Another term used for this syndrome is "Pollen-Food Allergy."

Alright, so I think I'm officially allergic to caffeine. I drank a large mocha today and felt tired after I drank it and sort of rested while I was studying. Then I got hungry and went back to my dorm. I ate a sandwich and drank two 16 oz. bottles of milk. Then I started to feel real anxious. My heart was racing and I had the worst panic attack (well not the worst but I'll explain the rest later). I thought I was going to pass out or die. I even called my mom like a couple minutes ago because I was scared I was gonna die or something. I told her that I think that my brain might be poisoned/infected from this sinus infection that I might have (I have an earache from blowing my nose due to congestion and slight eye pressure and discomfort from the area) and thought I was going nuts. She said to just calm down and ride it out. I think I'm starting to come to realization right now.
