Yes. They have several tests available. The traditional test is a skin reaction test. They put a small amount of the test material in solution just under your skin using very very small needles. If your skin gets red around the test area, then you are allergic to that sample. Don't scratch if it itches. It will skew the test. They also have a blood test which is more recent. Neither test is particularly fun, but they are not that bad either.

In the past, the skin test was considered more accurate. I am unaware of current comparisons. Talk with your doctor. Again, neither test is that bad or that uncomfortable.

Yes they can. Me and my daughter both are allergic but to different things. The test I did quite a while ago was the skin test (also mentioned by soemone before me). I also did the blood test but neither were accurate in that they could not tell me what my allergy was for. My daughter however did only the blood test, and she appears to be allergic to dust, pollen etc.
So yes, if you ask your doctor to let you do a blood test they should be able to pinpoint to what your allergic. Or it might come out undecided, like mine.
In any case even if they can't tell to what specifically you're allergic he can always prescribe an antihistamine, like Claritin, Allegra or Aerius.
