My mom ate at a sea food restaurant and a day later got really sick and had to go to the ER they said that it was an allergic reaction to the shrimp she had(she never was allergic before). then a day and a half goes by and she got sick again and had to go back to the ER. Then the doctors said that she had got food poisoning. they changed her medication and she seemed to get better. about 2 weeks later she went to a burger stand and had oinon ring and a couple of hours later she ended up in the ER agian! My sisters said that the oinion rings smelled like fish and so did the french frys they ordered. My question is: Could she sue the burger restaurant for frying fish (or any type of sea food) in the same oil they fry onion rings, french frys, and other food? Is it against the law? or any health codes?

Eating a mango almost killed me, and just in the last few years I've developed bad allergy to bananas. I love them but now I can't eat them.

I have never really had allergies. Besides bee stings, poison ivy, and slight seasonal allergies. However I just moved 8 hours from home and am now in Iowa and my eyes keep swelling up and I don't know why. Its nothing to do with makeup or anything like that and when I talked to my grandma about it she said it could be stress induces which makes sense because every time it has happened I have been extremely stressed and usually to the point of crying. In fact whenever I cry its about 10x worse but the strange thing is that its only around my eyes mostly. Every once in a while the rest of my face will get puffy and ill have a fews red blotches on my face but nowhere else. Does anyone know if it is stress induced or what I should do about it? When I went to the doctor, all he said was it seems you've had an allergic reaction to something but most of the time you'll never know what causes it.

I am 21 and healthy. I have to spray Nasal Spray or I can't breath through my nose at all. It completely plugs up. My dad is the same way, so I guess that I get it from him.
Someone told me that nasal spray is bad for you and that it could cause heart strain. Is that true?

The chemical in it is Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride 0.05% if you need to know that.

My lips, gums, and tongue itch and burn very badly when I drink certain brands of soy milk (unflavored), or eat fresh fruit such as bananas or apples (pears have no effect). The fruit has to be fresh - canned or cooked fruit does not have this effect. It's been a problem my whole life, but I've yet to find anyone else who experiences this.

I just got my 1st ear piercing on Sunday at Piercing Pagoda. Monday night, my ears began to turn a reddish color. I thought it was no big deal, cuz after all, it was my first piercing. Then, on Tuesday, it was red and it began to get all puffy, then finally it's now all bumpy and red and puffy. I'm scared, cuz it's on both of my ears. I think it's because the earrings that I'm wearing are causing an allergic reaction to my ears. I asked the nurse at my school what was wrong, and she just told me to keep on cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and it's still not gone! I'm really scared that I'm gonna lose both of my ears. My mom already took out my earrings, cuz she didn't want me to get really infected. She just took them out today. I've been wearing my earrings for only about 4 days, and I have them taken out. Both of my ears are still bumpy, pimple-like, kinda puffy and red. I keep on cleaning them like I'm supposed to, so any suggestions on what I should do?
If you could help me, thxs!

My head....well, mainly my ears are really clogged up. I'm deaf in one ear so, it's driving me nuts. I can feel the pressure and my ears are ringing. I've been taking decongestants, but they don't seem to be doing any good. I've left a message for my doctor and I just need some advice on what I can take until he calls me back. This same thing happened to me last year and my eustachian tube collapsed and I was almost deaf for 3 weeks. I'm trying to keep that from happening again this year. Help!! What do you guys suggest that will help unclog me fast?

I have a respiratory infection and the Dr. prescribed Phenergan w/ Codeine for my cough. I usually get this prescribed and it has a sweet fruity taste but I went to a pharmacy closer to home this time and this one tastes very bitter. Why would it taste so different? Does it differ from store to store or did they screw up the prescription?

I got many mosquito bites this past summer. Even when I stayed inside in the evening, I got a lot, maybe through people opening the door, a hole in the screen.

But I also got other types of mysterious looking bug bites. I'm getting them inside, in my apartment. One insect bites leaving three bites in a row (it's almost as if the insect goes along saying "mmmmm, this is good." (lol) and then stops after three bites. They become red welts when I scratch them, of course. this happened the other night on my neck and on my leg. And then on my shoulder there are several, random bites, just on one shoulder. I have a lot of topical allergies; I'm also allergic to dust mites (do they bite showing red marks?), lanolin in wool, fragrances. This year has been awful. I don't know what's going on in my apartment. Anyone know anything about specific insect bites?

Took Cipro in college went into horrible hives - parents have always told me that is what happened to me when I was a child with penicillin. Pharmacist told me to rub the sulfa one on my hand first to see if I would have a reaction before taking the pill and I did. Now I'm on Macrodatin - so far, so good. Except I'm very sleepy.I'm wondering if there's anything else I should stay away from or why I would have a reaction to such a wide base. I have no allergies to food or anything.. Thankfully, I hardly get infections..I have taken zithromax and clyndamyacin in the past (for dentist).

this is a serious question. i have had this terrible cough for a month that turned into a terrible cold/the flu. i have been taking over the counter meds but have avoided going to the doctor because i don't have a primary doctor which means i would have to go the emergency room and that will take all day. through the thanksgiving holiday, i was bed-ridden and when i returned to work on monday, i had to get out of my seat every 5 minutes because i can't control my leaking faucet of a nose. i don't want to be nasty and blow my nose at my desk like some people but it becomes a problem when poeple are accussing me of not working when i am doing this. how can i control my snot from falling out of my nose so frequently? i have been blowing it so much, that it is bleading and when i try to hold it in so i won't have to get up from my desk so often, i can't because it is coming out faster then i can hold it back. i am suffering here. serious, serious, serious responses only.

Can someone be allergic to vitamins?

I've felt itchy all over for months, no rash, no bites, just itching. Can't figure it out. Thought it was laundry detergent, so re-washed everything. Didn't help. Could it be the vitamins I switched to a few months ago?

I switched to taking OneSource Women's vitamins. Any similar reactions?
