I have a respiratory infection and the Dr. prescribed Phenergan w/ Codeine for my cough. I usually get this prescribed and it has a sweet fruity taste but I went to a pharmacy closer to home this time and this one tastes very bitter. Why would it taste so different? Does it differ from store to store or did they screw up the prescription?

Some of the liquid medications come in different flavors. If you don't like it, you can always get it flavored. If you are getting the generic, different generic houses use different flavorings.

Call the pharmacy and confirm. Maybe your other pharmacy added a flavor so it would not be so bitter and this one did not.

You are probably getting generic and so it's whichever kind that particular pharmacy uses. If you get generic pills from diff pharmacies, they will look different also.
