I love apples :)
I always eat fresh ones and wash them before I eat them.
I'm 20 and can't remember the last time I ate one and my throat didn't itch. But I love them!

Can I possibly be allergic?
Does this happen to anyone?

Allergic reactions can take a multitude of forms. If you react in any given way every time you eat or drink something you are allergic to it, or something in it.

Im allergic to honeydew melon-but not cantelope or any other types of melons. It makes my throat itch too. I never made the connection until I was about 30 years old. It seems to have gotten stronger as I get older. Its not so bad, I like bananas and stuff, but like at buffets and partys when people have fruit bowls, where the fruit is all cut up, like from the store, well-its all got honey dew juice on it and I cant eat any of it, because its tainted with honey dew juice.

It's might not be the apple, it's could be the insecticide, pollens on the fruit that did not get washed completely. try some dried or canned one,if you still itch then stay away. I recently get itchy throat from kiwi fruit, but it just that one time, so go figure.

I have the same problem. It is a mild allergy to apples. My brother has it with all kinds of fresh fruit. It has a real name to it but I cant think of it now...Just stay away from the apples! =)

Do you have problems with other fresh fruits? You may have what is called oral allergy syndrome.
