hello!recently i got put on a puffer for my environmental allergies by my doctor, but a few of my friends mentioned i should have this kind of a nozzle that you put over the covering to help the medication reach your lungs, which i do not have. is this important/ do i need it?

Depends on the inhaler and your coordination. If you are inhaling a powder it doesn't really matter. If your medication is an aerosolized liquid or "puffer" type inhaler then this "nozzle" (I'm assuming this is a chamber or tube that fits on the end) may help you inhale all of the medication if you're not very coordinated. If you can't puff and inhale at the same time then this chamber will hold the particles of medication in suspension so that when you inhale you will get all of the medication.

the item youre on about is called a spacer, and some people need to use one and others dont. Obviously your doctor doesnt think you need one,
i would try using your puffer without the spacer but if you feel you cant cope then go back and see your gp

I would assume your doctor would be a good source of information on this question.
