My Dad and I have always had the issue of having very red skin on the face, nose, and around the eyes. I asked a doctor once what the problem was, and he said something about a condition called Roscea. It is supposedly when the skin is too thin in these areas, which causes the skin to look red. Has anyone heard of any treatment for this condition?

My husband is 43 yr old , perfectly healthy , exercise regularly but they found a scar at the Thallium / Stress test for the heart and they sent him to do a heart ultrasound . What means a scar on the heart ? He never had a heart condition or heart attack and his blood pressure/cholesterol is normal,as well as the weight .

Doctor said some tumors were dark and others light. What does that mean? They (the tumors) are located on the spine, dark ones. The light ones are located on the base of the brain.

Does this mean he will most likely develop diabeties as he ages into his 50s and 60s? What if he lost some weight and kept it off with regular diet and exercise, would that prevent him from ever developing diabeties, or is he doomed genetically to succomb to this sooner or later no matter what he does to prevent it. This is of course, if indeed being glucose intolerant translates to meaning that it is the first step to becoming diabetic. Right now, I don't even know what being glucose intolerant means, so if someone could please clarify. Thanks!

My son was born with bicuspid aortic valve which has developed a leak. He is now on enalipril 2x per day to decrease the afterflow and buy some time before he has to have surgery, but the doctor has discussed our options and we basically have to choose when it comes down to it, whether we go with a valve repair, or valve replacement and if we do replacement we can do mechanical or donated valve or The Ross procedure. And he will probably be under 5 yrs old when this needs done, (he's 2 now) so I would like to keep him off of coumadin (blood thinner) so he can play sports in school if he would like. But I also want to do what is the best for him long term. Any advice would be helpful. thanks

I have a health screening every year and the past 2 yrs my "absolute lymphocytes" have been high. (4085- range shld be between 850-3900). Everything else is w/in normal range.

I took the results to my doctor last year, he redrew the CBC but didn't seem concerned. It just concerns me that I don't know exactly what "absolut lymphocytes" do or what it means.

Please explain.
