no its not. but you have to take great care of your skin. sun and lupus in most people don't mix. you say you have discoid lUPUS, which is mainly if not all confined to the skin, leaving rashes, lesions, butterfly rashes. you should always wear sunscreen. a good quality 30+. Its not cancer, though at times if really bad, can have similar treatments. I dont know if discoid lupus brings on skin cancer easier. I have Systemic Lupus (whole body). Ive had skin issues and i live in LA, CA area. But in 7 yrs, no skin issues other then minor rashes if allergic contact made. what your saying is not a death sentance for sure.

hope this helps

No. Its actually sort of the opposite. Lupus is a disease in which your body produces antibodies to attack itself (like your body is trying to kill a part of you).

Cancer on the other hand happens when a cell or group of cells become mutated and lose the ability to die or to stop growing. (a part of you is out of control and your body can't stop it or kill it)

it is integumentary system and all diseases have their own genetic code which dictates where and when it attacks. just like some bacteria and viruses attack only your upper respiratory system, this disease is coded to attack your integumentary system. to learn more in depth and exact reasons, study biology, microbiology and the anatomy of disease.
