My mom had emergency surgery last week and they removed a large tumor from her bladder. She was told the other day it was Stage 2, Grade 4 Cancer. Surgery will be needed and she will have to leave the state to have this done. (Sloan Kettering, NYC). Anyone with short messages of support or stories to share in a positive way will be helpful. I will copy and paste these messages into a private web site we have started for her.

The "journal / website" was started so that friends and people who care can leave comments during this quite scary time.

My name is John. Her name is Ann. Please sign off with your first name and where you are from. I am hoping we get some positive feedback from all over so she feels (knows) she is not alone out there and this is a battle which can be won.

Thank you all.

My mom has been disabled for quite some time. She had 4 spinal fusions, and nerological disorder. She had recently had surgery(#4) like a month 1/2 ago. They put a bone stimulator in her back & it's literaly boldging out of her back(as big as a computer mouse) She has melanoma cancer. She is only in late 40's. She is right now drowzy(prob.medicine) and she is in pain. But she keeps lying down, 2 min. go by and she sits up. Ache-ing-ly saying she's scared(i ask her what she's scared about) she says i don't know, then lies back down, she has been repeating she's scared and lies up then down(uncomfortably) But it's like she's having a bad high. She keeps saying she's scared, thats all she is saying. Is there anyone that cvan help me with advice or has been through this?

I have broken out in a rash on the back of my wrist and around my breast. I'm not sure if it is a reaction to the meds or not. Please tell me what you think. I have also spotted and I've gone through menopause already a few years ago.

I am 42 years old and had something called AV node re-entry. After 18 plus years of having terrible heart arrythmias, I referred myself to a physician and went to a consult not very optomistic he could fix me. He did! Wow what a change in my whole life! Just talking about it brings me to tears. I had such a bad arrythmia, I was afraid to go anywhere or do anything. As a RN, I work with heart doctors who did not encourage me to have the procedure and people made jokes about me dying on the table and told me horror stories about the procedure. I went into the cath lab with tears rolling down my face terrified out of my gord he was going to kill me on the table. In less than 1/2 hr I was fixed. I owe my entire sanity to this electrophysiologist who fixed me. He has made such a change in my life and I cannot begin to express how thankful I am he took the time to fix the problem I kept downplaying because I didnt want people to keep worrying me. I was scared.

why is it that the great U.S.A has the largest cancer rate in the world. 1...cause more people smoke in the u.s.a than anywhere else. 2. or because the great U.S.A has THE MOST nuclear explosion tests than any other country in the world over 1,025 tests.

I've resently been breaking out in shingles. This is my 2nd episode. I hear it gets worse as you get older. I'm only 36 and a little concerned. Could this be a sign of something else in my body going wrong? A patient at work said she had shingles and was later diagnosised with bone cancer.

I took Accutane when I was in high school for about a year and a few years later I took it again for about 6 months in college. While on it in college I drank heavily even though I knew I wasn't supposed to. I am now 31 and am experiencing a lot of dryness on my face as well as flushing and small breakouts. I think I may have damaged my liver by drinking on the medicine. What kind of tests can I have done to see if I have liver damage?

I had chickenpox when I was about 2 years old (and am now 19). But I only had about 3 poxes, so I was wondering if there was a possibility that I could catch it again? If so, what are the chances?
