I have a terrible problem of clinching my jaw while I am awake. I do it so much sometimes that my jaw aches. I have no problem with it at night. It feels better when I get up in the morning, than I do it all over again. It is worse at times. The severity of it comes and goes. I also have TMJ in my jaw.

My aunt had a crown to start with, then with a 2nd different dentist she had to have a root canal on the same tooth. To this day (5 years later) Is it possible that the dentist didnt clear out all the bacteria because it is sensitive to chewing or even putting pressure on it with her finger. Are there any beneficial options to consider?

Our 5 year old has not lost any teeth yet.

He has another set (two more) teeth growing behind his lower central incisors.

We will contact the dentist as soon as they open again, but may need to wait until Monday. Is this something serious that we should seek immediate support for?

What does this mean and what will the process of solving this involve?

Thanks for all your advice and support! ♥

I have had my wisdom teeth out already and that was miserable!!! I've had braces, retainers, and headgear throughout my life. I am having jaw surgery on my upper jaw to fix my underbite December 19th and I am scared beyond belief. When I got my wisdom teeth out, the doctor said that this surgery to fix my underbite was going to be much worse. If you have had the surgery to fix your underbite can you tell me what its like? Do you feel a lot of pain or have a lot of swelling? When can you talk after the surgery? How long did you have to be rubber banded/wired shut? Also how many nights did you stay at the hospital? When it was all over did it change your nose or face significantly? Sorry so many questions! I'm 16 btw.

More specifically on my canine teeth, i was looking in the mirror and noticed some difference in height of the gums compared to my other teeth. I know it can be done to fix, and my dentist has thrown the idea up in the air, but never really considered it...Does anyone know or had this type of experience?...anything is helpful! Although this has not been such a tragic issue for me, I was just curious to know as to how the process works and if its at all beneficial. If anything, I would do this sometime in the future, but again not a red flag situation. Thanks again!

Ok I'm getting braces next year around June and I have a few questions because I've already started thinking about them. Ok here we go:
1. My friend kind of over exaggerates a little and says that they're horrible and that you'll be sore for like 2 weeks....Do they really hurt that bad?
2. What's the process that they go through when putting them on?
3. What color should I get when I first get them?
4. What are some foods that I should consider when I get them?
5. What food shouldn't I eat?
6. And finally...are braces really that bad?

I have a loose molar and it's hurting right now. I've gone through root canals and crowns to "save" this tooth, but at this point, it is beyond repair. I wouldn't mind losing the tooth, but it hurts like hell when I try to jiggle it. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions on jarring the tooth loose? I don't mind the pain, assuming it will guarantee tooth extraction success.

I got the last of my wisdom removed about a year ago, two on top and the bottom left. Recently, the bottom left side of my mouth has been sore, particulary the gum flap that used to hold the wisdom tooth. It's become red and swollen...the same pains I got when the tooth was still there!
I'm confused as to why there's still pain, this only started recently.

Any thoughts on what the problem could be?
