I got the last of my wisdom removed about a year ago, two on top and the bottom left. Recently, the bottom left side of my mouth has been sore, particulary the gum flap that used to hold the wisdom tooth. It's become red and swollen...the same pains I got when the tooth was still there!
I'm confused as to why there's still pain, this only started recently.

Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

It sounds like you went to a bad dentist. Or in the process of getting your teeth removed, a nerve may have gotten damaged and it has only recently become damaged enough to feel the effects.

Well, if you have flaps of tissue, that's not good at all and you should have that fixed by your dentist. If you are referring to the skin that once held the tooth, you may have an infection. You need to go to your dentist and get it fixed, because infections don't fix themselves. I'm betting you have an infection.

I just had my lower left wisdom tooth pulled last friday, they put me on penicillin right after it was pulled. I think the infection gone by now, but my other teeth are hurting. I hate my teeth.

by the time your knowledge tooth are available in (or initiate attempting to come back in) you're in various of circumstances an human being, and as such, you could refuse to enable everybody eliminate them in case you pick to save them. although, i'd recommend listening to your dentist's advice on the topic. even as knowledge tooth do no longer continually damage different tooth or reason complications, each and every from time to time they do. Dentists can tell by searching on the x-ray in the adventure that they are going to be a situation. i became informed even as i became 12 or 13 that mine were at an no longer attainable attitude and they'd be no longer something yet worry and needed to come back out. I exceeded over the advice, hoping they might straighten out or something and my father and mother did not rigidity me to get them out. although, 10 years later, i began having discomfort in my jaw. ultimately, i could not ignore it, or perhaps as i became 26, I were given them out. by that element they were impacted and there have been abscesses round them and the dentist had a negative time extracting them. although, when I recovered from the technique, the discomfort became lengthy gone.

Another tooth could be growing or you had the wrong tooth pulled.
