Your permanent retainer was bonded to your teeth. Basically, the bonding will be removed similar to how your braces were removed. After the retainer is removed the excess bonding material will be "sanded" off with a handpiece"drill".

Simple procedure. There should be no pain involved. Just some pressure.

I used to have one of those!

Actually, they just pretty much pull it off with some special equipment... then use a small sander-like thing to smooth down the glue-like stuff that's left on your teeth.

Dont worry, it doesnt hurt!

THERE IS A REASON WHY THESE ARE PERMANENT. THEY MAY BE REMOVED USING SPECIAL INSTRUMENTS BY TE DENTIST.
