I have a loose molar and it's hurting right now. I've gone through root canals and crowns to "save" this tooth, but at this point, it is beyond repair. I wouldn't mind losing the tooth, but it hurts like hell when I try to jiggle it. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions on jarring the tooth loose? I don't mind the pain, assuming it will guarantee tooth extraction success.

Ok...for pretty much instant relif now, get a teaspoon or two of crushed cloves, put it into a hankie and tie it off so you have a little round ball, dip it in rum, bourbon, gin, whatever liquor you have in the house, and bite down as hard as you can on it, cloves kills the pain, and the liquor will help get rid of any infection that might be starting, not to mention while the bottle is open, have a shot or two, this always helps pain...lol...Then you can either pull it yourself or get it pulled by someone else...or all else failing it might get you through till you can back to the dentist for him to do it, which is probably the better idea...

Hope this helps.

Go to the dentist and have it pulled. But I warn you, get either a bridge, or implant there, because if you don't, it's going to set all of your teeth crooked. Don't pull it yourself, because then you could get dry socket or even an infection. You probably do have an infection, you may even have an absess. Go to the dentist before it's too late!
I had a molar pulled five years ago, and because I didn't get something put there in it's place, all of my teeth are getting crooked, and I once had really straight teeth. Had I known I was going to have crooked teeth like this (it's not the crookedness that bothers me, but the pain from gums receeding) I would have gotten an implant.
Implants are better than bridges, because they stop your bone tissue from dying. Hope this helps.

It sounds to me like you should find a new dentist. The one you have got has obviously botched your root canal. That is very unfortunate because we all know how expensive it is to crown a tooth. Anyways pain killers, will help, however clove oil applied directly to the gums will numb the gum. I had a toothache once and no access to pain killers, so I ground up cloves and put the mix on my gums, it helped allot!

Toothaches are painful but can be prevented
by take suitable precautions. Avoid eating
food which will result in the formation of acid
in the mouth, brush teeth regularly with a fluoride
toothpaste. I found the information at

Start on antibiotics if you have them lying around. You have an infection guaranteed or the tooth wouldn't be loose. The only way to ease the pain is to extract it but if you decide to do it yourself or with the help of a friend, be sure all the roots, normally 3 are removed or you will still have pain & gain more of an infection.

ok here goes:
Call your dr and get some nerve pills. Think about it..it is hurting cause of the nerve endings. So a nerve pill is better then a pain pill. Take a nerve pill and get it out.
Good luck

TO GUARANTEE SUCCESS, SEE A DENTIST A.S.A.P. AND TRY SOME OF THE OTHER HOME REMEDIES, BUT DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PULL THIS TOOTH YOURSELF.
