I just started with a new dentist and had a slightly painful teeth cleaning experience. It was not extremely painful but it was uncomfortable and now my gums are a tad swollen.

I have to get a crown on two of my from tooth. What kind of crown is the best? do they hurt? i heard they saw your tooth so that the fake crown can mold in. How much is it?

I quit smoking again a few weeks ago and my gums are really bleeding badly. It seems to me this has happened before when chewing a lot of nicorette.

Anyone else have this experience?

I have to get braces and have already done that whole color bands thing so this time I just want something that will blend in the best and still work well especially since ill have them my jr and senior years of high school. I cant get invisiline for several reasons so I think my best bet is between:
the Lingual vs. Damon 3 system vs. ceramic or white
The lingual are behind the teeth, the Damon 3 system is 60% clear, and the ceramic are white so blend in better. Do you have any of these or know how much they are, if they are tough to keep up with, break or color easily... What type of braces do you think I should get? Anything would really help. I have to decide soon.

I live in a small city so I think pricing would be different than of a larger city and I do not have insurance. Also, on the organizations that pay you to be a guinea pig for their pain medication... I have heard of Ppd, cedra, and seirex?? But I am not gettng much information b.c Ppd is not experimenting anymore, and I am not finding anything on seirex.

Okay so I'm a teenager with braces and my orthodontist thinks i need a skin graft because the gums/tissue on my bottom front teeth are EXTREMELY thin. He says that with the braces moving/straightening my teeth, the lack of tissue would thin them even more. I am very scared about getting a skin graft (my brother had to have one), and I was wondering if there was anything i could do to build up the tissue on my lower front teeth. PLEASE help me I am very very very scared.

I survived the week long drama of having my impacted wisdom teeth removed and now that my stitches are out I have some questions. My oral surgeon was a jerk so I don't want to call him and ask anything uneccessary so please help!
1. The 2 major holes that are left for me to clean out now...what are they supposed to look like inside? Grayish black?

2. How long will these take to close up? I HATE eating now because it is such a process.

3. What happens if I don't get every spec of food out of these craters?

PLEASE HELP ME!

ok, well i went to the dentist today and they x-rayed my teeth. my top molars are in definate need of help. the dentist said its up to me what i wanna do. after him giving me suggestions and his opinion, i came to the conclusion of geting my two top molars on each side taken out, which is something he agrees with. i have vicodin and kelflex for the pain now, and he offers laughing gas when i get them pulled in like 14 days.... if i don't do it, and got a root canal, and then get it crowned, within years, they can break and crack and fall apart again. and theres no point if i still have my wisdon teeth coming..it seemed ok earlier today, but now that i thought about it, im terrified!
i don't know what to expect, how bad it will hurt, what im gonna eat, what its gonna feel like and everything. im so scared now and i don't wanna do it! please anyone who knows anything about it, please tell me and let me know everyone so i feel better about this! thanks!

I don't know exactly what dry socket means. Does it mean that the socket is actually dry? so if i have a cig and drink water am i still in danger of dry socket. my sockets are not bleeding any more so does that mean i can smoke if i don't dislodge the blood clot?????

I started using Crest White Strips yesterday, and I will be using them 2 times a day. I am supposed to get my final results on my teeth in 14 days. On the box, it says "Teeth stay whiter for 12 months", but I hear a lot of people who used them, they said their reults only lasted 6 months. Will mine last longer or the same as theirs, because I make sure to brush after every meal, floss once a day, and use a special mouthwash my orthodontist recommended for me to use when I got my braces off.

i was thinking if i only had wisdom teeth extraction i could still eat with my other teeth. but if i had a deep cleaning too then i won't be able to eat anything because i heard all your teeth get sore, or was it your gums? or should i get it all at once so then i won't have to deal with pain longer then necessary. i heard it takes a week for each procedure to heal, does anyone know if that's true?
