you can't do anything. the first week when you get braces is the time when it will hurt most. basically, you have to go on a soft food diet, or your head will hurt like hell. after the first week, they won't hurt anymore, even if you get them tightened.

Yes the braces hurt at first. But, your teeth will straighten in time. When I got braces several years ago, I had them on for two years. You must remember to take Advil every four to six hours. If your mouth hurts tomorrow, call your dentist.

Nothing... in a couple of days they will feel better! At least you are taking the Advil! Every time you get them tightened, it will hurt again!! But the joys of having straight teeth outway the pain!!

Congrats on your braces! I think they are cute.

Advil should help some...maybe take an extra one if ok with doctor. You can use a heating pad on each side for a while...maybe that would help. I can't think of much else...just have to tough it out.

Get better!

The pain goes away, and then the dentist tightens them again. Beauty holds no comfort, you'll have pretty teeth soon.

Lots of good answers already. You might try drinking something cold. It seems to help some people.

um ask u'r orthodontist if they have any suggestions. if not jus eat foods that u don't have 2 chew & try 2 distract u'r self ( watching a movie, playing a computer game, playing a sport... ect.)!
