At work I polish first and then floss to remove any remaining grit left over from the prophy paste. At home however I floss first, then brush, then use listerine. I hate to have that great fresh breath feeling and then go and ruin it with flossing the stinky stuff out from between my teeth. I have always done it this way. My opinion is if you are flossing once a day, whether you do it before or after brushing is fine by me. The fact that you are flossing at all thrills us hygiene gals to no end. It means one less person with bleeding, infected gums who we can save " the talk" with. I feel like sometimes I am a broken record trying to get people to understand the importance of flossing, places where your toothbrush just will not reach. It has more of an impact then just saving your teeth, but with infection going on in the mouth which presents with bleeding gums: it can have serious health consequences as well. So floss until your little heart is content. I am glad to see that you posted the question, keep up the good work.

I don't know that it really matters, but everytime I go to the dentist they clean my teeth first, then floss, so I would say brush then floss... I like to floss first, though!!!

Brush first. Then floss.

My dentist always says, you don't have to floss all of your teeth, only the ones you want to keep.
