Sometimes I feel sooooo good It's like I'm living the dream and hot as f%^& and nothing matters and I can't stop laughing for at least an hour. Other time (mostly when I'm alone but more frequently now when I'm in public or at school ) I want to cry and cry (so much that sometimes I have to have a cold shower just to calm down) I feel so useless, I feel like I'm a perfectionist who fails at everything and I will never get ne where but fat old ugly and lonely I should just give up now and get what I deserve. I do a lot of other things in my life by extremes but I don't know if it's really bad enough to be manic depression.

How do I get on partial disability? Is their an age reqirement I'm 30 yrs old and can stand on my feet very long without excruciating pain. I might have inherited my mothers "spurs" (a nick name for what makes the bones in your feet start peeling). Also my legs tend to get tight and start cramping. Please help. I don't want to go to the doctor if he's going to tell me I can't get on the partial disability.

A friend of mine was in a car accident. She had two broken ribs and a collapsed lung. The doctors did a series of tests. At the end one of them said, "You're doing great. We just have one more test." He inserted his finger in her rectum. I don't think that it was anything but standard procedure, but why? What was he checking for?

I'm sorry, but I used to believe that mumbo jumbo and no matter how much faith a person has, it's not going to cure a mood, anxiety or psychotic disorder.

Of course, nearly all religions can help people better cope with their issues. That's not faith though, that's science, but what's with the "Oh no, don't trust in medicine or psychologists, trust in god." talk? How scary! Besides, working on the premise that there is a god who created everything, didn't he create the possibility for psychiatric drugs that work?

"Don't get chemotherapy for your testicular cancer, get a bible!" Frankly, that kind of advice is dangerous and people like this should be banned.

Any thoughts on that one?

I have been on risperdal .25 mg since june 29th, and i have no side effects besides sleepiness (which is why the doctor prescribed my dosage at night), and aready since ive been on the medication i have seen small changes starting to happen (if that is even possible).
anyway, my questions are,
1. How long could it take to see bigger and more changes?(estimated weeks, moths, etc)

2. since i take my dose at night before bed, the effects wear off early morning/noon of the next day, will that effect increase to all day till the next dosage intake that night, over time with continuation of the dosage?

I've recently been prescribed Lyrica for Fibromyalgia, after taking it for 1.5 weeks, I experienced major swelling, especially in feet in legs; therefore, I've stopped taking the medication as prescribed.

Yesterday I was having sharp nerve pain in hip, with nothing else to take, I took one capsule before bedtime and the pain has subsided. Will this medication work on an "as needed" basis or does it need to build up in your system?

About a year ago I was told I had elevated liver enzymes and at that time I was going through depression from a life changing event and weighed about 80 lbs. Nothing else was done. Now recently had routine blood work done and this doc says the same thing. I don't know what the levels are, but I honestly feel fine. He wants me to come back in as my blood sugar level is 119. Should I be worried?

He is not overweight and he does not snore. He had a history of sleep walking as a kid but I've lived with him for a year now and he has never done anything like this before. I'm a very light sleeper so I tend to wake up when he "wakes" up. Sometimes he comes and sits on my bed and I'll open my eyes and see him "staring" at me... his eyes are open, but he's asleep. It's driving me crazy because I haven't slept well in a month and we're leaving for college in a few weeks. I don't want him to be made fun of or hated because of something he cannot help.

What can we do? Are there medications? Why did it come on so quickly? Is it because we are living at my house and not his anymore?

I've only seen one who I swear was trying to get me to kill myself by letting me take Prozac for 6 months and upping my dosage when I told him the medication was making me so much worse. I did try to kill myself, but I never say any professionals after that. I quit the meds on my own. Do they get paid more for hospitalizations? He worked at a psychward too that's why I wonder. I had 2 appointments with him one both were shorter than 5 minutes.

Since that was years ago and I never saw anyone since, I have no best impression of a psycho-doctor. I think when I try meds again, and I will, I'll just see my GP. He usually has about 10 even 15 minutes!

I don't take any medicine for diabetes yet but I am the only family member who doesn't. I'm trying to get my weight down and it's working with exercise and that helps, I'm borderline right now and want to avoid meds or damage from diabetes. I've been testing and the trend line is going down, but sometimes I just don't feel like it for a couple of days and sometimes I only do it once a day. How can I get myself into a regular routine of tests that will better help my doctor see where I am?
