Bacteria from left over feces you missed from doing a poor wipe job. You need to thoroughly wash it with soap and water and do a good job wiping after each BM.

Try some Hydrocortizone 1%--You can get it at Walmart. The warning lable says don't stick it up your butt though. They must mean the whole tube because the cream really works great.

Go to your physician and check up! Don't just take random people's opinions and use over the counter medication. They might make it even worse.
