I've always had such respect for nurses and what they offer and have always wished that I had it in me to become one... but everything they do gives me the heebie jeebies. Is this something that a lot of nurses have to overcome or is it more a "either you've got it or you don't" profession?

My friend is trying to get her Super Sweet Fourteenth birthday party on MTV (I'm her helper so that means I'd be on TV too!) and it would be so nice of a few of you to vote for her.
If you're going to then vote for overall, outfit, cake, gift, invitation, venues, entrances, and theme. Thanks! Here's her page:

http://mysupersweet16.com/accounts/BrianaKirkland

I love you so much if you vote for her, lol.

For those who hate the show because of the snotty girls that are usually on it:

Guys, I swear to you, she is NOT a brat! She's been wanting to have this party since she was 10 and MTV (and her parents) just gave her permission to register. She is inviting everyone in our grade, not treating anyone badly.

We just want to get her party on TV for her, so please vote. =D

I'm a 16 year old male. I have a brother who has type 1 diabetes. I was put on 60 mg of Prednisone for poison ivy on my face. I was put on that 5 days ago, and am now done with my treatment. At about day 3 of my treatment, I noticed more frequent urination. I tested my bloodsugar with my brother's tester, and I had a reading of above 500. Later that night I was 495. In the morning following I was 219. Later that day after continuing my normal habits, I was 184.

I'm concerned because I don't know if the sugar readings are because of my eating habits [Lots and lots of soda, all the time. And I had ice cream and dinner before I tested and was 500.]

I've been testing for ketones and have come up negative. I'm just wondering if I'm over reacting by thinking I may be diabetic myself and it is just a reaction to the Prednisone. Should I wait for a while to see if the frequent urination, chest pain, and high blood sugar [all known side effects of the drug] are nothing more than side effects

Can you get herpes without having direct sexual contact? Could you get herpes if someone had herpes and had touched the sink in a public restroom and you touched it then later touched yourself could that give you herpes?

Hello,
This is a serious question for intelligent, educated people who have good intentions and would like to help. I researched the issue of douching and was disgusted of all the fowl and negative information posted on douching. Especially people calling other people "douche bags".

I understand the risks that come with doucing.
I DO NOT douche often.
I have an important reason for douching (one I will keep private)

I just would like to know:
" How long after a woman douches, does it last ?"
Meaning.....after I douche, does the effect "cleanliness" last about a day or so......or just a few hours?

Is there anyone that would be able to give me a serious, sincere helpful opinion.....

PLEASE no derrogatory, disgusting or crude answers. Thanks

Thanks everyone for your help.

I fairly recently bought a hybrid Trek bike for 450, and an odometer to go with it. I started out just using it to commute during for the summer and save money on gas and such but recently I have been riding it at least 15 miles a day and so far this week I have gone over 35 miles in one sitting on two separate occasions, meaning that I have already rode 100 miles just this week.

Is this decent exercise compared to say running or swimming or something? I am fairly inactive otherwise, normally spend most nights on the computer. I am 6'1 and over 200 pounds, my arms and legs both look muscular but I definitely have some pudge covering my lower stomach (4 pack). My only exercise is normally curling free weights (30 pound dumbells) and I also have a barbell but it is only 110 pounds that I bench everyday (it was lying around in the garage). I eat like crap, normally fried foods but do you think if I start to eat better and continue riding I can shape up?

I follow the Canada Food Guide and according to that, it is okay. I run 1.5 miles (2.4 km) every other day and have a physical summer job. I also follow a calorie counter (The Daily Plate) and everything seems to be alright there (Carbs, Calories). The only problem is protein, with my daily protein scoring at 137% Again, would it be alright to carry this "habit" on back home? I am 16 years old and I am (apparently) getting the recommended amount of protein for my age. If two teaspoons of peanut butter daily is "unmoderated," could somebody please tell me?

Thanks so much.....

I have recently discovered that in some of the jails and prisons,
persons who have moderate to severe Hepatitis C, are put
in the ''general population'' of that type of facility, and to me, this is ''putting other people's lives...AT RISK'', and if it is
against the Law, then I do think that the System, should be
''held responsible'' for putting healthy people's lives, on the
line, for health dangers.
From what I understand, persons with Hep/C, and Genital
Organ Diseases do not have to Register with some of the
State Health Departments, but persons who are ''carriers''
of Aids, are required to Register.
I'm wondering why it is not a law, that these others "carriers''
of Incurable, Highly Contagious Diseases, aren't required to
Register, or are they??? In which States??
I don't know about other people, but this type of neglect, by
the law enforcement / jail-prison systems isn't right, and it
should be of great concern to us all, right??
How many in ur area?? Tomenyhere

A friend of mine has an ingrown toenail and it is a chronic condition. She can't really afford to get the nail removal surgery every six months and the crap that they put on her toe(I assume it's NaOH or Phenol) doesn't work on her, however unlikely that sounds. I know that prices are different for every doctor everywhere, but I'd like to know what some of you have paid for a matrixectomy(The matrix is where the nail grows from) or similar procedures. I just need to form a ballpark figure. She's desperate and I need as many people to help me as possible.

Thank you
