I've always had such respect for nurses and what they offer and have always wished that I had it in me to become one... but everything they do gives me the heebie jeebies. Is this something that a lot of nurses have to overcome or is it more a "either you've got it or you don't" profession?

i used to be scared to death to get a shot , but after going through school i can take any shot, and see blood bones and just about anything else you can think of, i'm not sure if it's something that has to be in you, but i always was able to see nasty things. some of the girls in my class would pass out when we practiced taking blood, but they are functioning nurses now. si i guess i'm gonna lean twards the theroy that after seeing something over and over you get used to it. if you really want to help people (opposed to the money it offers) then you have the potential to be a nurse. you just have to be determind and push yourself through the hard things. just remember to breath (it will help you not to pass out) good luck!

Body fluids gross me out and I don't think I could overcome my distain for them.

I though about being a nurse after my dad died. As my dad's care taker I did a few "nursly" things. The visiting nurses assoc. trained me how to hook him up to an IV ... and take him off an IV. Also helped me calculate the "Drip" times. During the whole process the only thing that made me do that my love for my Dad.

I agree, there is much respect to those who can play with body fluids on those whom they don't know or love.

Polls could be skewed as interior the occasion under (except you extremely recommend that some 86% of Fox visitors think of the TEA occasion is racist!) in spite of everything, so what? maximum folk's critiques are in accordance with what the MSM provides each evening to them on a plate, constantly exhibiting the non violent "drum beating" yet hardly the crap on the sidewalks they play those drums on! i'm with the TEA occasion concepts and that decison isn't stimulated by making use of ways many human beings "like me" however the direction this u . s . is being falsely yet WILLINGLY LEAD INTO...

I doubt you would be able to overcome them easily but why not consider being a nursing assistant first to see if you can tolerate it.

Sorry, but if that bothers u, u prob will never make it. I thought nothing could gross me out until I started nursing. So, if ur easily grossed out, its not for u!
