No.

And white people do get more Vitamin D because their skin lets in more UV rays. So the fact that is burns easily can also be healthier.

Like the person above said, it's evolution and adaptation that fits the environment. Theoretically, it's more evolved, but that doesn't mean it's better. It just means it changed more along with the migration patterns away from Africa. It does it's job in the environment that it's suited to, so I wouldn't go as far as calling it defective. But in the overall picture, darker skin does have it's advantages.

No, black skin developed over eons since they migrated closer to the equator and the sun's UV rays were stronger there. It was a mutation to save their skin from sunburns, just like Scandavians mutated to have very light skin since they're much further north and receive less sun throughout the year.

"Defective" word is not good pick up. it's true that lack of melanine make skin easier burned, but it's natural. White skin has it's own advantages. Same as other skin colour. Skin colour is only as deep as 0.1 mm. Deeper , are all the same.

no it's not defective (I believe you just use this word for lack of better word to use?) .. it's just more prone to sunburn because of the lack of melanin (which also has the effect of making skin dark, hence dark people are less prone to sunburn -- but it doesn't make them invincible) means there's less protection from the harmful rays of the sun ...

A person with pale skin, weather European descent or Asian descent, is pale because their was no need for protection from the sun because of the area of the globe from which this genitic occurence came about. People with darker skin, such as people from African descent or Native American, needed the pigment to protect them from the sun rays.

Protection from the sun isn't skin's only function. It holds in our muscles and organs, keeps out germs and allergens, helps us to regulate body temperature, etc. Our white skin does all that stuff fine.
