I know someone who is suffering from depression. And I was wondering if depressed people actually look different (physically) from a person who is not depressed? And what are some common symptoms?

Have I been over-exercising at the gym?
I am 15 years old, I am 5"9, and I weigh 139 pounds. This week has been the second week I have been working out at the gym. Before these two weeks, I was pretty much not active at all or used to streneous excersise. This week I have been at the gym for 2 hours, three times a week. I use many machines but I don't lift weights very much. Yesterday when I came back from the gym, I was extremely cold, but did not have a fever. Today I woke up really late, was once again really cold, and for some reason took a long nap and woke up feeling like I have a fever, but didn't. Are these signs of working out too much? SO SHOULD I STAY HOME TOMORROW AND REST MY BODY? I need serious suggestions and advice. Thank you very much.

After a routine yearly physical and routine blood test, my doctor called with the results. He stated that my platelet count was low and wants me to retake the blood test. Is this anything to be worried about?

My wedding ring and engagement ring are leaving a red scaley rash on my fingers. :-( Should I have them reset in platinum, or is it likely I'd be allergic to that, too? (Do they have any of the same "filler" metals)?

Ok I don't use tampons, I won't. For swim class I HAVE TO SWIM TOMORROW. But I'm just starting my period. We're only in the pool for about 12 minutes. We have to wear t-shirts AND SHORTS over our 2 piece. Sooo can I just wear a pad since its not going to show bulk? or will it unstick and blood get everywhere?

Ok. I'll get to the point. I'm 14 years old, about 5"2-3 and weigh about 155 lbs. (yes I know that's a lot and I'm working on it) I've stopped eating junk foods & only drink water (milk for cereal in the morning). Besides 45 minute gym classes 3 times a week, I've been doing about 30 crunches day & night (since New Year's).
I've been trying to aim for 125 since..uh.. a long time ago =O, but the only thing I've succeeded so far is maintaining my weight (which is supposedly good). However, I feel extremely determined but I haven't seen any results yet. I've decided to lose 30 pounds by June. My legs are kind of fine since I generally do a lot of walking. However, it's the upper half that I'm worried about. I'm not really sure how to lose it. Help???

When you are sick with a cold it doesn't make sense calling it a cold. Why did it get called that in the first place?

i have some questions about proactiv

- how much will it cost each month

- is it possible to use less so it lasts longer (or do they just send u it every month anyway)

- if you get the 30 day trial and you dont like it, what happens if you decide not to buy more?

- can you stop your subscription (or whatever you'd call it) at any time?

- is the 3 step system good enough or should i get the other things too?

-what's the difference between the kinds of proactiv? example: moisture system, oil control system, 5 piece or 3 piece system

thanks so much i'll give 10 points to the best answer

it seems I do things that irritate him but he says nothing. That is until he has a bunch of anger. Then he won't hardly speak denies a problem. Then he starts yelling. I wish he would tell me as soon as I bug him because then I would stop whatever it is. last week it went on all day then he started yelling. today he just stopped speaking. He is asleep now so I guess in the morning he will do his yelling. I never ever know what he is mad about until he yells. Like right now I have no idea what his problem with me is. The thing is I am starting not to care. I can't even remember what made him angry last week.

I've talked in my sleep for a while now(probably a few years). I don't enjoy this, as I usually ramble on for quite a while about random things(I've had a friend tell me that once I was talking about a rollercoaster at a fair months after the state fair). My parents have learned to listen to what I speak about, and they attempt to read in-between the lines. This worries me deeply. I also notice always wake up in a different position than what I went to sleep in. I have no reconcilliation of talking or walking in my sleep. Yet, quite recently, I woke up with a cramp in my leg, and I have awakened to bruises(though I'm not sure if I had gotten them the day before.). As I stated before, I hate talking and possibly walking in my sleep. Walking in my sleep could become potentially dangerous. I would like to know some methods to stop sleep walking and sleep talking.

I know I have thyroid problems...but I'm on meds for that. I am just exhausted all the time. I get at least 8 hours of sleep a night and I try to eat as healthy as possible. I'm a full-time college student, so I stay busy, but I never have energy to do anything. What's wrong with me? What can I do?

First time he ever had seizures. He keeps complaining about pain in his right foot. He had 4 in a lapse of 7 hrs. He was completely aware of what was going on. They only lasted about 45 sec. 1 minute later he was back to normal. Right after it happened, he would complain of pain on his right foot. Doctors in the ER say he might have epilepsy, but I have a feeling that it may have something to do with his foot pain. Can nervous breakdowns cause seizures in toddlers? (I'm potty training him, and he's not accepting it well.) He also hs a newborn baby sister.
