Ok. I'll get to the point. I'm 14 years old, about 5"2-3 and weigh about 155 lbs. (yes I know that's a lot and I'm working on it) I've stopped eating junk foods & only drink water (milk for cereal in the morning). Besides 45 minute gym classes 3 times a week, I've been doing about 30 crunches day & night (since New Year's).
I've been trying to aim for 125 since..uh.. a long time ago =O, but the only thing I've succeeded so far is maintaining my weight (which is supposedly good). However, I feel extremely determined but I haven't seen any results yet. I've decided to lose 30 pounds by June. My legs are kind of fine since I generally do a lot of walking. However, it's the upper half that I'm worried about. I'm not really sure how to lose it. Help???

Eat fewer than 1500 calories. If you aren't eating something with a label on it - go to fitday.com and enter it in!

If you can't lose weight eating fewer than 1500 calories and exercising three times a week, go see the doctor.

You should be able to lose 15-30 lbs by June...

Don't eat less than 1200 calories a day...If you do, your body will think its starving and will slow your metabolism down and make it harder for you to loose weight.

Also, depending on your build, 125 might just be unrealistic. If you're 5'3 you could weigh up to 145 pounds and still be with in the weight range for your height

yep, i was in the same situation about a year ago! i tried and tried losing weight but it soo hard sometimes! but i got married and started eating only with my husband when he comes from work -which makes it only once a day! and it worked! (its kinda boring to cook just for yourself!) but u obviously can't use THAT option (lol)!
here are things that work for my sister, as she is trying to loose weight now!
1. try not eating white bread at all! eat other things instead, like whole wheat.
2. if u don't hate garlic too much, eat some garlic after every meal! it really works for my sister! she lost almost 20 pounds in 2 months! but if u do it, u have to do it EVERY time! no skipping!
3. this may sound not healthy, but it works!: drink diet pop when u get hungry. that way the gas fills up your stomach and u wont have too much space to fill with food!

You need to use more calories each day than you consume in order to lose weight. In fact you need to burn 3500 calories to lose one pound of fat.

At your current weight, height and activity level, you probably use about 2300 calories per day. So, if you consume only 1500 calories per day, you will be creating a deficit of 800 calories per day, therefore at that rate, you should lose about 1 lb about every 3-4 days.

The most important thing to remember is to make sure you eat a variety of healthful foods including plenty of vegetables and fruits, as well as lean protein and low fat sources of calcium. You need to make sure you are getting all of the necessary vitamins and minerals.

basically, you're doing pretty good. make sure you're eating enough carbs, but not enough to make you full. when you exercise, keep your heart rate at about 60% of the maximum, which should be about 140, 145 for you I think. If you keep it higher than that, you're doing aerobics, not fat burn. also, do some strength training. Muscle burns calories faster than fat does, so by gaining upper body muscle, you'll automatically start burning more calories. Good luck!

You could try toning your arms and do cardio classes/tapes.
