Have I been over-exercising at the gym?
I am 15 years old, I am 5"9, and I weigh 139 pounds. This week has been the second week I have been working out at the gym. Before these two weeks, I was pretty much not active at all or used to streneous excersise. This week I have been at the gym for 2 hours, three times a week. I use many machines but I don't lift weights very much. Yesterday when I came back from the gym, I was extremely cold, but did not have a fever. Today I woke up really late, was once again really cold, and for some reason took a long nap and woke up feeling like I have a fever, but didn't. Are these signs of working out too much? SO SHOULD I STAY HOME TOMORROW AND REST MY BODY? I need serious suggestions and advice. Thank you very much.

Those symptoms sound kind of like the flu,but it could be the work outs.Give yourself a day to relax.
Also,2 hours at a time is a lot to start out with, you should start at 30 to 40 minutes and gradually work up to your desired time.
And even MORE important, you could be dehydrated or weak.Do you drink enough water?Do you eat a good breakfast? These are both very important factors in your body's health and essential for an effective workout.
Just relax and take your time.Nothing worthwhile comes overnight.Good luck!

A good way to get injury is to go from no exercise to 2 hours per day of hard exercise.

You don't seem terribly overweight, so try 30 minutes daily of aerobics, rather than the weights. Even if you stick with weights, you need some aerobic (heart pumping) exercise to get and stay fit.

Take walks, use a mini-trampoline, ride a bicycle. Mix it up a bit, and you are less likely to over-do it (and more likely to stay with it).

One day would not hurt to stay home from the gym. Don't overwork yourself. 2 hours a day is alot. Try, 30 minutes to 45 per day, and vary your workout each day. Then add additional minutes after two weeks.

Speak to your doctor about a training plan, and what would be best for you.

I am not sure, I don't work out. You might want to see a doctor.
