There is no direct correlation between the swelling due to a swelling and the scar that it will cause. Most of the times the swelling is due to edema ( body water) or a hematoma (blood).

Its the breech and disintergrity in the skin at the time of injury, any infections thereof and any tendency to scar (keloid) formation which are more directly linked to how bid and ugly a scar one will get.

Scar tissue is cause by your body making too much tissue to heal a wound. Swelling could slow healing, NSAIs can reduce swelling as well as ice.

Yes it does. If there is any injury, your body will fix that injury but you are going to have scar tissue.

the swelling itself will not cause scar tissue. only trauma to the specified area will cause scar tissue to build

i dont think so... swelling is a concentration of white blood cells to an area of the body.

I think it can because when I was little I got a huge fat lip and now that side of my top lip is still bigger then the other half

NO, it does not. Only broken skin like from a cut will.
