Health - 12 January 2007

I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy including ovaries done in Mar. 06 for severe endometriosis. I have not taken hormone replacement. I have had and ultrasound to check for ovarian remnant and also a CT Scan. I have had a blood test to check hormone levels and a urine test. Intersticial Cistitis has been ruled out. I've had physical therapy and accupuncture. I have pain on the right and left side of my pelvic area every day, especially when I get up in the morning. My doctor says she's out of ideas and doesn't want to do a laparoscopy. Something's definitely wrong with me. Any ideas?

The last time I waxed "down there" I was 16 (now i'm 19) and it was too painful to ever go back. Just last night I got my first tattoo and the artist said something about numbing cream, which I refused, but another lady said hey that stuff works wonders when you use it before waxing. Is this true?? If so, what brand would you recommend?? and where to buy it?? I really like being complete nude there, so I'm desperate to find something that will numb the pain a little. Thanks!

i was exposed to herpes recently and have gone to get checked out every time i have felt any little itch, now i have some massive itching and a couple of little red spots but the doctor says it's not herpes and that at this point (about two and a half weeks from exposure) if i was going to have an outbreak i would have already had it and that there is a 99.9% chance that i am clean. i don't know if maybe the itching and irritation is psychosematic at this point or what. is that possible. it just doesn't feel normal to me.

I used one of those Kiosk blood pressure machines at a local pharmacy and put my arm in the cuff and tested. It said that my Systolic is 130 over 88 diastolic. WHat does this mean? Someone told me that 88 was above normal. If it was, why would that happen and how can I prevent that?

I know, I know I know (lol) that appointments are generally made for the next week or two to get "fitted' for the real crowns to have placed.
but my question is (because of finances) -- is there anyone out there who decided to leave the temps in for as long as they could and how long did you have the temp crowns in there for?
Or did you end up regretting it, like if an infection developed or whatever?

...belly button. I've tried washing it, and using a few different types of shampoo and one type of really really thin, watered down bleach...and nothing seems to stop it.

It smells a bit like melted plastic and olives. Has anyone experienced similar? If so, what can I do to stop it? I'm really worried about it because my mum is starting to ask questions and people at school are starting to avoid me.

OK so this is really embarrassing but a couple of days a go i had this clear discharge come out of my vagina. Today i noticed blood on my panites. I have never had my period so i don't know if this is it. When I changed pads, there was a brown/purple/red color on it. I'm really scared that I have hurt myself in some way because i do masturbate. The blood didn't go in the toilet when i pee, it just drips a little afterwards. It stays in my vagina and leaks out onto the pad. It does hurt a little during the day. I have some cramps and stinging pains. I don't want to tell anyone, least of all my mom. Please help me tell if it is my period or if i need medical help!!

I was recently diagnosed depressive. I've started counselling and medication but it's not doing a lot for me. I have a really negative attitude to myself and experience a lot of anxiety with sexual feelings. I'm doing well in my career but I never seem to feel less lonely. i feel very trapped in myself, like because i am who i am i'll never be able to achieve my goals and sometimes i feel suicidal. sometimes my heart hurts really badly and i lose all hope. i just wondered if anyone has any idea how to cope with these feelings because nothing seems to work and im very worried about myself.

Hello! A year ago I was diagnosed with Depresion & Anxiety. Nevetheless I have had really weird symptoms that I think belong to some other mental illness: One day I felt like killing a relative. I even had the image of cuts and blood. Another day a energy drove me to get into my parents room and kill them. Another day I felt that I was getting crazy. One night I started laughing like a crazy person and could not stop. Can anybody tell me why is this?

okay long story short as possible; i just got over a kidney infection,i wore a thong since the first time since,and it hurt. I came home and took it off, there was blood, it hasn't stopped, been about 3 days. Long black stuff is coming out, and it's constant bleeding. My ribs and back hurt. Any ideas on what this is? ...your care, like in many other countries, was prioritized based on your age, existing conditions, and care needed? In other words, if you found a cancerous lump on your skin, you might have to wait months to be seen if your over 60. Or, if you are already deemed high risk, like an aids patient, you may be put on a long waiting list.

Like any many other countries with Universal Care, you really have no say in the doctor you might be assigned either. Is it worth it to you?

Universal health care is a good idea on the surface, but the real issue is high demand and limited resources. I'm really not sure I like the idea the more I look at the practical implications. Besides, if you have an emergency, any ER is by law required to attend to you -- the illegal immigrants are very familiar with this. So what will universal health care really solve? What problems will it introduce? Are they worth it to you?

It sounds sick, but now, right this second, I want to hurt myself. Is there anything I can do instead? I feel really anxious, restless, and confused, and I've been having sudden feelings of anxiety for no good reason, especially at work, even though my job is not stressful. I cut myself to deal with these feelings. I have been reading a book on cutting to try to learn about it, but it typecasts cutters as freaks- am I, then, a freak? My parents and friends don't know, and I don't have any help.

Hi guys, I really need help. No one has time to listen to me at all. I know that might sound selfish and i know that other people also have problems so its hard. But, I am going through so much at the moment. My father was diagnosed with heart and kidney failure last summer, lots of companies are requesting money from me at the moment from electricity to council tax etc and I am not working, I am finding it so hard to find a job and when I do land myself a job, problems always happen when I am working so I have to quit....for example, was in this job last october, was nice boring but nice however my father became really ill which resulted me in quitting as i had to look after my father. my dad is now out of the country and has been for 3months. All of a sudden, tonight i became really frustrated, hurt and upset and i just feel trapped!tried talking to my boyfriend but he has problems of his own and so he cant listen to mine :( am so confused! any advice???
