I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy including ovaries done in Mar. 06 for severe endometriosis. I have not taken hormone replacement. I have had and ultrasound to check for ovarian remnant and also a CT Scan. I have had a blood test to check hormone levels and a urine test. Intersticial Cistitis has been ruled out. I've had physical therapy and accupuncture. I have pain on the right and left side of my pelvic area every day, especially when I get up in the morning. My doctor says she's out of ideas and doesn't want to do a laparoscopy. Something's definitely wrong with me. Any ideas?

If your doctor refuses to do a lap, find a new one who will. Hysterectomy is not a cure for Endometriosis, and it is entirely likely that residual disease and adhesions are causing your pain and symptoms. Endometriosis implants produce their own estrogen-synthesizing enzyme called Aromatase, thereby sustaining their own life-cycle. The implants are fundamentally different from normal endometrium and _do not_ need ovarian or hormonal stimulation to persist. Recurrent symptoms after hysterectomy is almost guaranteed to be disease left behind in the abdominal cavity. It should be treated and removed thoroughly, through advanced surgical extrapolation such as excision (including off the bowels, bladder, kidneys, ureters, ligaments, pelvic sidewalls, etc. etc. and any place it might be in the body). Additionally, adhesions that are likely present should be lysed effectively. See http://www.centerforendo.com for more information on excision and why superficial vaporization followed by hysterectomy doesn't work. Steven how is it you've had a hysterectomy and in another one of your questions you talked about getting an erection? Hmmmm

Maybe this is why your Dr. can't find out whats wrong with you.
