My mom suffers from arthritis and fribomyalgia and she has terrible pain all around her body, she takes 6-8 vicodins a day. I am really scared for her because is to much, she has been taking them for about 3-4 years. I think she is addicted. What do you recomend for the pain to go away, she cries a lot, and she gets depressed really often?

I heard that eating oatmeal is good for losing weight and what not. To make 2 packets oatmeal tolerable to eat, I add suger, like 3-4 teaspoons...today I ate some and I thought to myself, I putting in too much sugar. My question is can I put sugar in my oatmeal and how much of it is healthy? Also does it matter how many bowls I eat? Will it do anything? Along w/ exercise 200 minutes a week + balanced meals for lunch and dinner, will successfully see results by january?

My left wrist is under a lot of pain during my workouts, and I continue to have a dull pain during the next few days. The more I workout, the more pain I experience on a day to day basis. This pain in my left wrist is stopping me from doing workouts everyday, which is what I want to do.

I'm lifting 8kg (17.64lbs) per dumbell, which I usually do about 8 repititions on the harder exercises and as much as 25 repititions on the easier exercises. I ensure that I keep good form throughout my sets, although I lift alone so it may be difficult to evaluate myself. The pain in my left wrist is especially evident when I do hammer curls, which may give you a good idea about the muscle which is responsible for the pain. Does anyone else have this problem?

What can I do to get rid of this pain. I won't simply dull the pain with medication to get through my workouts, this isn't a real solution! Are there exercises I can do to strengthen my wrist? Equipment (gloves) to give me support?

And not just in the bedroom, I mean. I'm a reasonably fair sprinter, and I can do a lot in short bursts, but I cannot endure ANYTHING for a long period of time, whether it's standing up for 2 hours or jogging for a kilometer.

I'd like to know how to improve my endurance.

I know the saying "What doesn't kill you can only make you stronger", but I know I have limits, and if I try too hard to overcome pain, I might be seriously hurt. I want to know if there are gradual but surefire steps to take, either to deaden pain receptors (which doesn't seem to work well) or just increase my pain threshold in general.

I worked at Starbucks for a year, about the latter half of the year I worked there I developed carpal tunnel syndrome. I quit working in August, and went back in October. Now my hands and wrists hurt so bad, especially because I am on bar a lot more often at this new store. I'm doing things like carrying heavy floor mats, carrying milk jugs back and forth, mopping, etc.
When I first went to my regular doctor, who had me hold my hands together similar to praying, to see if I felt numbness or tingling, I did. Now when I try that, I don't feel any numbness. I was reading online that if you don't have numbness then it's probably not carpal tunnel. Is there a condition possibly similar to carpal tunnel syndrome that would cause wrist and hand pain? Or is it possible the numbness was only an early symptom, and has gone away?
I am going back to the doctor next week, but I wanted to see if anyone had any other possibilities I could ask her about.
