I had the for 2 years, they really are not that bad. They do not cut your mouth like everyone thinks they do. Your mouth will be tender, like if your teeth click together. They do not make you talk funny either. Unless you get the button on the roof of your mouth. I had that but still did not talk to funny. They are worth it! You'll be happy after words.......
Keep your head up it's not the end of the world!

Don't be scared! They hurt for the first few days, but you get used to them. Just make sure you take care of them. The orthodontist should show you how to brush around them and give you some fluoride paste that you should brush on your teeth. Also make sure you stick to the right foods that you can and cannot eat. Nuts and anything chewy or really hard are generally bad for braces, if I remember right.
Over all they really are not nearly as scary or pain full as you think they are going to be. Trust me, I've been there. Just keep thinking about how great your teeth are going to look once you get the braces off!

There is nothing to be afraid of. The procedure is not painful -- it is just an abominable nuisance. I had braces when I was a kid, and supposed that the idea was to straighten some crooked teeth -- but it was actually to correct a bite issue. Talk to the orthodontist to see what the goals are and how they are to be achieved.

If a guy does not date you because of the fact of braces, then he's no longer a guy which you will choose thus far besides. besides, the time-honored public of guys (the superb ones) won't care. and don't subject, your smile would be so incredibly after the braces come off :D

Put them on, get your teeth fixed, and get it over with. Down the road, it will be worth it. No reason to be scared. Last time I checked, braces never killed anybody.

The maiin question is.....what are you scared about? The braces themselves and peoples reaction or the braces hurting you? Are you having fixed braces or non-fixed ones?

I understand yr anxiety, but it's okay nothing to be scared about. You should be okay. I remember when I had done braces for the first time, removing them was more painful.
