always be careful with the neck.. before you know it you will need massage therapy as you have strained the muscles there. watch your technique too. there is no real need to work your neck as a good back exercise routine will develop that area. does the pain go after a set? do you feel it at other times when not training? if so, not good. if u r young... it will catch up with u. as a gym owner.. please please be careful, injuries happen and once u hurt yourself u r much more prone to hurting it again.

You mean, while you're working out? If it burns and you feel kinda quivery and the muscle feels kinda stringy and loose, you've reached your exhaustion point and you should stop and let your muscles rest a while. That's how you build muscles--work 'em till you're pooped, and then let them build up bigger while they're recovering.

But if you're just standing around and your neck hurts, that's not muscles. If it's associated with exercise and it DOESN'T HURT, just feels warm and tingly and very tired, that's OK. But if you get it at other times, get it checked out.

Exercise doesn't always feel good, exactly, but it doesn't hurt. If you don't get a nice endorphin rush and you get weird aches and pains, you're doing something wrong. After you get a doctor's OK, check with a trainer to make sure you're not doing something wrong technique-wise. Your form might be messed up, or you might have to compensate for an injury, something like that. Either way, if you're hurt, STOP working out and seek help! Muscles aren't worth permanent damage!
