I've seen dozens of people on these boards recommend to people who have serious diseases like cancer to stop taking chemo or other conventional treatment and start using herbs or vitamins for a "cure." This kind of stuff is flat out dangerous, people may actually listen and quit their therapy to try some alternative practice that doesnt work and die. Does yahoo need to step up and crack down on stuff like this?

My Dr. told me I have it. I'm a very hygenic person and live in a very nice house so I was shocked but I guess anyone can get them. I was wondering if it's common to get them on your chest and back? I have ugly bumps all over my chest and back. Some of them almost look like pimples but my Dr. said sometimes they do. Does the prescription cream work? I was just wondering about all this because the research I did said they like crevices like your genitals and between fingers and toes but not on me.

I have this friend who eats human hair. It is digusting to me. She told me out of privacy, but I think it may be a disease or something she cannot control. She has done it since she was little. Can't a giant hairball get stuck in her stomach or something? Is this harmful? Help me help her!

I'm getting ready to do a detox program and have read about some side effects. It's hard for me to get 2 days off in a row like they recommend. This week at the most, I have about a day and 1/2. What are some side effects that you have felt and have you done the sugar detox (which they say lasts 7-14 days) and the caffeine detox (which lasts about 2 days), at the same time? What are some methods that you used to cope?

I had a puncture wound on my finger where it went through my bone. I had it x-rayed in the ER and then once more for a follow up 4 weeks later at a specialist. During this time, I got off medicaid and now have new insurance. Now, 2.5 months later, my family dr. wants to get more x-rays before sending me to a specialist, who I'm assuming will want to get another set of x-rays. Is this excessive? I don't want to get cancer... you feel me? All this, and I feel like nothing has changed in my bone. I can still move my finger freely(disconnected).

thanks

I always hear, shave with the grain, never against. But if i do that i dont get a clean shave. Is it something i need to do a couple times to "train" my facial hair to be cut that way? Whats the advantage? Im not getting any razor burn or cuts, so how is it better?

In my early 20s, I drank heavily and almost daily without any real problems. The past 5 years it's very rare if I ingest any alcohol more than once a month. The past 1-2 years I've noticed that the day AFTER I drink I develop a painful skin 'condition' which feels like just a sunburn WITHOUT any redness/flushing/rash. It usually involves my upper arms, torso and thighs being painful when touched. It takes anywhere between 2-5 days before fully going away. It has happened with as little as 2 beers (or more), mixed liquor drinks or wine.

I read much about alcohol related allergies but found nothing involving this particular symptom. Most refer to rashes or flushing of the skin which I never have. I haven't found anything about painful skin. Has anyone heard of this? Could this be a simple allergy or a symptom of some other problem? Liver or kidney disorder? If it's dehydration, why would this be happening now and never in the past?

My sister has hirsutism in her face & has masculine her distribution, but light hair, not so thick radiating towards the umbilicus & in the inner asoect of her thighs & I want to help her.Don't tell me do acu-light laser her removal as the condition is generalized & laser will cost her alot of money. She took DIANE-35 a drug which contained cyproterone acetate & ethinylestradiol 3 years ago & it was giving excellent results, but this drug is no longer for sale.I asked in a phamacy & they said ethinyl estradiol alone is enough but I don't believe them cause here people who work in pharmacy know nothing about drugs,So if you please tell me a trade name of a drug that contains both cyproterone acetate & ethinylestradiol,I'll be grateful.

I am a 38 yr old educated professional. My boyfriend has a little college, but is CFO of a company. After 1.5 years of dating I have discovered that he is dumb!

No knowledge of Disney Movies, gardening (He grew up on a farm)., gym excercise machines, cars, cooking, little knowledge of PCs and programs, .. No knowlege of simple things like painting a wall, ...trust me he didn't grow up in a wealthy family. lol

#1 He is a CFO

#2 He is 42 years old

I find that he has no knowledge of things that exist in his everyday life for the past 10 years. He keeps saying, "I didn't know. "

It has started to scare me. Could there be a learning/mental disablitiy in play here?

Are there any quizes or websites that might give some insight.

He is a great guy, but so stupid,....he has become dangerous.

Thank you. Kathy
