The signs and symptoms of clinical depression are:

Persistent sad, anxious or "empty" mood
Changes in sleep patterns
Reduced appetite and weight loss, or increased appetite and weight gain
Loss of pleasure and interest in once-enjoyable activities, including sex
Restlessness, irritability
Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as chronic pain or digestive disorders
Difficulty concentrating at work or at school, or difficulty remembering things or making decisions
Fatigue or loss of energy
Feeling guilty, hopeless or worthless
Thoughts of suicide or death
If you experience five or more of these symptoms for two weeks or longer, you could have clinical depression. See a doctor or qualified mental health professional for help, right away.

My daughter went through this the Doctor said she needed more day light. She worked 3 - 11 every day and stayed in bed until about 1 1/2 hrs before work. I started waking her up 8 am and within a few weeks she was a different person!
Change you routine if possible to get more day light. walk to teh store instead of driving sit outside and drink a coffee, tea or whatever . Start getting up early and forcing yourself to get outside even if for only 10 minutes. Got a dog take it for a walk.....

Almost all antidepressants take more than a couple of weeks to build up in your system before they start to have their intended effect. During the first week, sometimes into the second or longer, you will feel spacey and doped until your body adjusts to the medicine, bear this in mind if you try medication again, which if a doctor says you ought to try again I would agree. Good luck.

Hello, you sound like you are a bit bipolar or manic depressive. I am not a doctor, but am very familiar with this pattern of behavior in my family. What you described is a classic example of how it feels to be bipolar. You should stay on the medication, it helps to regulate you, not just make you happier when you're down. Talk to your doctor and tell them exactly what you wrote here. If they are a good doctor they will know what type of meds you need.

I can't take the way they make me feel, they can make u feel worse then when u started.always talk to the DR.
before u do anything on ur own.hope this helped god bless

It sounds to me more like you might have manic depression than textbook depression.........OR you might've just been taking the wrong antidepressant. You should talk to your doctor about trying different meds or perhaps just going to see a mental health professional. It's perfectly legitimate to be able to work through your depression/whatever without meds, though to be very honest it's best if you take meds and see a professional.

you know it happen when you want something new in your life i mean a daily routine,a goal...anti-depressent really dont work depression can only be controlled by strong willingness anti-depressents cant just numb depression for a lil time and make you sleep...what you should do is make a time table...ill give you a example it worked on my depression..

8:am..waking up
9:am....breakfast
10:am..getting ready for work or if you dont do job than go to gym.
11:am...hang arround with pals..
this was just a example of a time-table just spend each and every hour in this time-table and make it according to you..and if you spend your time according to the time table your mind is gonna get diverted to another things instead of being depressed..
