Just wondering. I was reading up on it and it appeals to me for a couple of reasons (animal cruelty for one, and then weight loss for me) but I have to admit to myself that I would be going absolutely nuts without being able to eat meat.

I need vegetarian recipes. Dairy products and egg are okay to be used, but other than that no meat products. Fake meat should not be used either. They should be easy to make, but at the same time look/seem gourmet. A slew of recipes or websites would work. Thanks!

I ask this because people keep selling hemp, and more hemp...and they never mention cotton or bamboo.

Did you know that that some of the processes for coating wire is a PVC or Polyeurethane compound mixed with an animal fat solution and melted to insulate the wireing you use everyday ?

Seriously, it's getting me sick and tired. Meat eaters treat us like freaks from other planets. They act as if we have nothing better to do. A friend of mine is a vegetarian and the amount of hatred she gets for being one is.. I can say that if i would tell people i was one they would all look at me as if i had killed my best friend with a fork. I am a vegetarian for many reasons, i am probably the only one in my whole family and the only one counting up my relatives. I have a lot of respect for meat eaters, as long as they don't make fun of who i am. I have been one for four years and i haven't told many people about it. If i would i would get many questions of people asking me if i'm alright and how i get my proteins. My reasons for being one is because i want to save the planet this way, i don't like meat and i find it much healthier to eat vegetables anyway, i love animals by the way. But i just want to give a wake up call to meat eaters and show them we're human too!

what are the food that contains highest amount of protein and that is easily available and at very low cost.

to make it a meal? I thought I read that somewhere. The protein will help me feel full longer, right? I thought I heard that you can add like 25% of the pulp back into the juice along with the protein powder to make a healthy breakfast.
ALSO, can I get several of my required servings of fruit or veggies in a single glass of juice? It was my understanding that I could...but I read one answer that said no...
TIA!!!!

I don't eat eggs so I was wondering if there was anything that can be substituted in order to make the sandwich.

"According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, more than 25,000 people die of starvation every day" (Wikipedia, "Starvation")

"One acre of land can produce 40,000 pounds of potatoes, or 250 pounds of beef." (http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/2062/argu.HTML)

Imagine if grew potatoes (and other vergetables, which produce simillar results to potatoes, in the thousands of pounds per acre) instead of meat. We'd EASILY have enough food to wipe out starvation.

So my question is, as the population of the world increases, and starvation increases, will more people have their eyes opened to this fact, and will vegetarianism ever be the default diet to humans as an omnivore diet is now? Will meat eating be looked down with with scorn, even disgust, by future generations? Many sci-fi writers have foreseen it, and I think its very likely. What do you think?

I start classes soon. My college is pretty not vegetarian friendly, I could pay my tuition with the ammount I would spend on living out of a vending machine. So I am asking for suggestions for types of healthy vegaetarian food that I can eat while I am stuck on campus. It not as dramatic as it sounds however it might be when studying and hunger collide. I do eat egg and dairy.

I want to open a restaurant that specializes in vegetarian/vegan menu choices. Do you think it would work? If so, where? just curious.

Well, I've been wanting to be a vegetarian for a while, simply because I don't like to eat a lot of calories, but everyone I ask says it's not good for me. What does it mean anyway? That you strictly only eat vegetables, or that you strictly don't eat any meat?

the FDA has declared that meat from cloned animals is ok to eat. i was extremely distressed by this news and the idea of people cloning animals just to kill and eat them. what are your opinions on this? i'm mainly asking vegetarians and vegans, but it would be good to know if any meat eaters are against this as well.
