Vegetarian & Vegan - January 2007

I want to know what are jalapenos good for. Like are they good for your eyes. Do they help constipation. Things like those.

What's so complicated about vegetarianism that makes people invent their own crazy definitions of it? Is "vegetarians don't eat animals" really so hard to understand?

I am in a temporary situation where I am having to do much travel where I am gone for multiple meals, so I can't just pack a lunch. (I do do that, but I am often gone for dinner, too.) So far, the only foods I can find on the go are from Subway (salad, veggie delight)and cheese pizza (which is not very good for you). I don't like other fast food salads because they taste disgusting. I also live in the South where vegetarian restaurants don't exist.

Any suggestions?

Hi. I know this may sound like kind of a stupid question, but I am new to the whole cooking scene. I was told by someone that summer squash is the same thing as what looks like a yellow zucchini. Is this accurate? I would greatly appreciate any educated answer. : ) Thanks for your time!!

I turned vegan primarily for the sake of animals,being an animal activist,but also for the health benefits as well.Before i was a vegan,i was a vegetarian,but that didnt seem adequate.Most of the time, i come across those who eat meat or animal products,which i hate,so i'd like to hear from others who prefer my type of diet/lifestyle too.

i've wanted to become a vegetarian for many years now and now that i'm 17 i thought i should. i really hate the fact animals have to die just so we can eat. my mum hates the idea and wont accept the fact that i dont want to eat meat anymore, she says that if i want to become a vegetarian i have to move in with my dad but we have a really bad relationship and i dont feel safe with him and my mum knows that. what can i do so that she lets me do this? surely its my own decision?

I am a vegetarian, and I love boca burgers. However, I do find that they need a little extra something to make them taste better. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a meal out of a boca burger, without too many calories??? Thanks!

i just became vegan like less than 2 days ago and i know that i cant use animal products and i bought i chap stick called "burts bees"and i did not look at the label intel now and it says it has beeswax in it so does that count as an animal product?

honey is an animal product so i don't eat that

i was not teasted on animals it says so on the tube.
