I turned vegan primarily for the sake of animals, being an animal activist, but also for the health benefits as well. Before i was a vegan,i was a vegetarian, but that didnt seem adequate. Most of the time, i come across those who eat meat or animal products, which i hate,so i'd like to hear from others who prefer my type of diet/lifestyle too.

I went vegan two years ago. It dawned on me that I don't want to unnecessarily take the life of anything to prolong my own, nor do I want to harvest what it produces. I'm happier this way, and I feel healthier too. I was always having problems with mucus buildup in the back of my throat (I know, gross), and I always felt so lethargic. But now it's cleared up and I'm much more active.

I became a vegan for animals too. I also became vegan because three years ago I was 100 lbs. overweight and I collapsed of a heart attack, stroke, liver failure and heart failure ALL on the same day! I knew I needed to make DRASTIC changes. I now can fit into a size 1 pants and weigh 104. I have completely recovered from my stroke and am back to a normal lifestyle. The more I eat like I do, the more I contemplate how I ever could eat like I did in the first place!

I became vegan about a year and a half ago once I discovered how cruel the dairy and egg industries actually are. I had been vegetarian for 10+ years before that, thinking that because the animals didn't die to produce milk & eggs, that they were ok. I knew that it was wrong though, because I would buy 'free range' eggs. Little did I know they are no better.

I've been vegan for about a year and a half and was vegetarian for about a year before that. I made the switch to vegan because it just made sense to me. Why continue to harm animals if I don't have to?? I did it for the animals--the way they are treated is absolutely torture! And also for health reasons.

I became Vegan in 2005 after
being vegetarian for two years.
I did it for moral, spiritual,
philosophical, and ethical reasons.
P.S. It really bothers me that most
everything slaughtered for meat,
eggs, dairy, leather, etc. is
female. Not only are they killed
but they're treated like whores
in order to arrive at the by-products.
