We're participating in a collaborative dinner feast this weekend. Host theme is 'English' and is preparing Beef Wellington (not sure if this is English?). We've signed up for an appertizer/starter and a vege side.

Any suggestions on a typical English starter/appetizer that would go w/? Also, aside from mushy peas....vege sides? I have a lots of organic carrots.

Additional menu items from others inc Yorkshire pudding and Trifle.

Ideas and recipes very much appreciated!

I love Caribbean food (like jerk chicken), Hawaiian food, Chinese and Southeast Asian food. And Italian and Mexican food, if you could consider that foreign anymore. People say Irish food is so bad but I really like shepherd's pie and corned beef & cabbage.

But American food is still my favorite, especially the South, like soul/ barbecue/Creole, southwestern mesquite and Tex-Mex. And New England seafood and Northwoods food like pike, bluegill and elkloaf are really good.

I'm definitely liberal when it comes to food:-D

i need a recipe for a marinade for chicken that only has HONEY, GINGER, GARLIC AND SOY SAUCE AND SOME OIL in it.
no other extra ingredients. i ate something like this from an asian friends house, but we no longer talk so i cannot get the recipe from her. i think she either baked it or used it on the BBQ. also it was a marinade for CHICKEN. Thanks.

I see people eat sushi on t.v. all the time. And there are really good sushi resturants by my school. I eat all my food well done, except a salad. Is there a veggie sushi or some meat in sushi that is cooked?
