I make a dressing with those ingredients. It uses sesame oil. Guess if you want to make it into a marinate, just multiply this a few times. Also, I never measure, so all of these measurements are very approximate.
1 Tbsp. Honey
about 1 cm cube of ginger
1-2 pieces of garlic
about 1/4 cup of soy sauce (best to dilute it with a bit of water)
about 2-3 Tbsp. of sesame oil
1. First chop up the garlic and ginger.
2. Put the chopped garlic and ginger in some sort of fine strainer (I use the mesh thing in my teapot), and crush to get the juices out. Throw away the solids.
3. Mix the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic/ginger juice together.
If you throw some sesame seeds, chopped green onion, and some chili peppers it tastes even better!

try peeling some ginger with a spoon(removes the peel easily)& grate on a rasp (this is a very small grater that you can but in the store) use about 1 tsp of this, 1 tsp grated the same way, put in one half of a cup of soy sauce add 1 cup of honey and a half a teaspoon of good seasame oil marinade your chicken in this for a couple of hours then cook at 325 for 25 min, or bbq to get the cross marks on the breasts(marinate in the sauce), then bake ant 325 untill done. You could always cut down on the honey and add some pineapple juice, this will make an even better marinade!

learn about you rproducts: soy- very salty, don't overdo it
ginger-fresh or dry-fresh use sparingly
dry-mix well to get out the
clumps
honey-use last as a glaze-may burn
or char before chicken is done
garlic-fresh or dry-fresh use more-dry
mix well-granulated is better
than powder
oil-asian dishes often use sesame oil
but it has a very strong flavor-try an
EVOO-olive oil or rice oil
Remember, some recipes need to marinade overnight, some only an hour or so. If your marinade is too salty it will permiate the chicken and ruin the whole thing. You can always add more. I know you probably want to make it yourself, but try a couple of store bought versions, they've spent millions making it right.

Sounds to me almost like a teriyaki sause, which u marinate chicken in and also, cook it in the marinade and it will thicken as it cooks r u sure there wasn't a little lemon juice added like a tbls of it. Well, u can do both, BBQ or bake but let the chicken marinate for at least 2hrs and if u are gonna bake it, bake it in the marinate for really good full flavor of it........ I have my own version, I call, juliyaki sauce i use it for chick. wings, and boy is it good! ok, good luck

It sounds like you know all the ingredients, so why not just put them together? I don't think you have to have a recipe, because I'm sure that the proportions aren't that big of a deal.
