I am looking for an Italian grocery or market in Los Angeles, or cities nearby. What supermarket sells shallot?

I see books on recipes that you cook a meal and then freeze it for later use. Can you do this with any meal or recipe or is there something special in those recipes?

My cousin just had a baby and I will be visiting her this weekend. I would like to bring a meal for her and her family, which is her husband and her 2-year-old son. I live 2.5 hours away from her. Any suggestions for an easily transportable, delicious and nutritious meal I can take to her, that will reheat well? It doesn't have to be like a casserole, I just would like to bring her a full meal her family can enjoy while she recuperates and enjoys her new baby.
Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can buy an apron in the shape of a sexy naked lady for my husband please? It must have a good shaped bosom so that he can have a good feel whilst he cooks! Iv looked on ebay, but all the lady aprons on there are totally flat chested, and thats no good at all. Im in Kent, in the UK (near Dover) if anyone knows of any shops local. Many thanks!!

I would love to have a few recipes that I can double the protein or the starch in order to use it later in the week. Do you have a favorite family recipe that you use all of the time? Do you use your crock pot?
Thank you!

I need help in the artichoke department. First of all, how do I pick a good one at the market? What do I look/smell/feel for?
Secondly, which is the best way to prepare them? Not in a recipe....just the plain atichoke which you pull apart and dip in melted butter and lemon. I have heard steam, boil and bake...which is best?

hi have some salmon fillets for tea tonight. only bought in those fresh ready meals that you steam with a sauce. i tried to cook it ages ago and was not too keen without a sauce. i have a huge amount mash left from yesterday so was thinking an easy fish pie. also something family friendly for 2 1/2 year old and 10 months would be ideal.

What's the difference between kosher salt and regular salt? I've heard of kosher pickles but kosher salt? Don't you just love me for coming up with all these amatuer questions? Anyway, are these two salts interchangable?

Doesn't the normal person just eat out of the styrofoam cup with a spoon? My fiance sees no harm in dirtying a spoon, a new bowl, a fork and 2 steak knives to eat his cup of noodles because he says he'll wash his dishes. That's right ladies, HIS dishes, not the sink of them. Who's right, who's wrong? Wouldn't this type of behavior drive you mad?
