Try something starchy/ carbohydrates
1/ grilled bread with cheese / tomato/ aubergine/ zucchini topping
2/ french fries
3/ spaghetti with just olive oil and garlic and some herbs, like basil , or with some dried tomato
4/ butter honey toast
5/ fried potato/ yam cake. (shredded the potato/ yam, mix with fried bacon, pepper, salt and corn floiur) , then pan fry
6/ a piece of Magherita pizza
Try to think of anything starchy and hot. Avoid exotic flavour like curry. It would go well with the salad. Even a fresh wheat bread will do ( grill it hot when serving, this would bring a good mix of greens/ white meat/ starch, cold and hot. The bread can also sweep clean the salad dressing and it is tasty)
enjoy!

Sounds yummy! You can get away with another salad along side it, perhaps a baby spinach salad with pears, gorgonzola, and candied walnuts with a vinegrette? Or take butter lettuce, roasted cashews, bean sprouts, feta, and a dijon vinegrette to make a nice salad. If you want to do something like chips, though, have you ever considered making your own? Sweet potatoe chips are very "in" right now. But, you can also do the same with yukon gold potatoes, just remember to put them in cold water so that they don't turn brown. Slice potatoes on your grater that produces large, thin sliced pieces. Or use a mandolin. Soak in salted water and then fry. Salt generously and sprinkle with minced garlic and parmesan for a yummy alternative. You might also bypass the starch and salad and try a fresh fruit plate with melon, pineapple, strawberries and blueberries to add color. Dress with plain yogurt mixed with brown sugar and vanilla. Have fun!

The chicken salad sounds adequate, especially if it's lunch. Serve it on a bed of shredded lettuce with a couple of kinds of crackers and iced tea.
You might want to put some breadsticks on the table. For dessert, have Jello with fruit in it.

I like warm cornbread with mine along with some fresh fruit, unless you already have grapes in it. I think grapes, melon and peaches or apricots go very well with chicken salad. Serve your chicken salad on some nice leaf or bibb or romaine lettuce.

Warm beaten biscuits with butter and honey, or sweet cornbread, and peach or pecan pie for dessert with strong coffee.
P.S. Put a touch of curry powder in that chicken salad, some sliced almonds, and pile it in cups made of butter lettuce. Wonderful!

Take the chicken out of the salad and serve chicken breasts with a regular side salad.
