Is there a specific way to shred a ginger root? Or would it be okay to grate it?

I want to make the traditional roast turkey, but any recipes and side dishes such as brussel sprouts and parsnips would be great! Also, I am not sure what to make for a starter. If I have made a Christmas pudding, do I need to add alcohol, or can I leave it for 2 months wrapped in cling film? Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated!

It's a cooking device that can be from 18 inches to 2 1/2 feet across with a semi deep bottom used in Mexican or outdoor cooking even. In Spanish the word for it is diskco, I think?

I'm making a stuffed chicken concoction tonight of (I think) my own creation. I never had it before, it's not a recipe someone gave me. I'm just using items I have on hand. I already started the prep-work....just waiting for the man to get home from work before I stick it in the oven.

2 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts.

I'm going to stuff them with:
1. Spinach (the frozen kind, but thawed & moisture drained)
2. Green onions - chopped
3. Some yellow pepper - chopped
4. Fresh Garlic - minced
5. A mixture of mozzarola & provolone cheese - shredded

All of that is going inside the chicken, and I have a mixture of spicy breadcrumbs and French's crushed onions to roll the outside of the egg-dipped chicken it.

What do you think? Sound good?

On the back of the bottle it says it has a peachy vanilla and coconut aroma. Does that mean it has coconut in it? If so, do the coconut enzymes break down in fermentation? I got a bottle of the Yellow Tail Chardonnay as a gift and I'm highly allergic to coconut and I want to know if it is safe to drink it.

I accidently bought Hunt's Tomato sauce instead of crushed tomatoes. Is there a difference besides one being smoother? Will it work for salsa?

My son is turning 1 yr old, and I'm having a party with 12 adult neighbors/friends and 4 children (ages 4,6,9, and 12) as well as my mother and father in law. Our party is on a friday at 6 pm at our house and we are having beef and chicken shish kabobs (as requested by my husband and his friend). I'm also going to make a big dish of home made mac and cheese and a large sheet cake, shrimp salad and regular salad (dressing?) The neighbors are much older than ourselves (in their 40s, 50's, even 70) and usually drink wine spritzers or other alcholic beverages. the kids- soda. We usually don't drink either at our house- mostlly water and juice. What would you suggest we serve as far as drinks, and what kind of foods do you think woudl be good for both adults and kids? should we serve alcohol? I have one girlfriend coming that doesn't drink at all for religious purposes, and two of the neighbors usually drink diet soda or crystal light but four of the neighbors are heavy drinke

I found a few recipies, but i don't know how good they are, and i'm too chicken to try them before hearing reviews. So this is why i'm here. I'm looking for a recipe that doesn't have too much mascaparone cheese since its so expensive($7 for a 8oz container[i'd have to spend $21 just on the cheese]... I'd be better off buying the cake made already). I LOVE Olive Garden's Tiramisu and found a few recipies saying they are supposed to taste like theirs, but they all vary pretty dramatically.

I recently moved to a new part of town and right next door to my house is this luxury chinese restaurant. Its really posh and you would expect it to be very expensive but the most expensive meal you can have there is about $6 for a 3 course meal. I have been eating there twice a day for a week now and I fear I am developing a problem. Please tell me how I can cure my addiction.
