My friends and I want to make a thanksgiving dinner that is cheap and still good. We don't have time to cook an entire turkey. Does anyone know of any other turkey recipes that don't take too long and isn't that expensive? What other "forms" of turkey can i buy at the store to use rather than the whole bird?

I need to make stuffing tonight from scartch, but the bread isn't getting stale quick enough. I tried to make stuffing using toasted bread but it came out rubbery, so toasting isn't an option.

To answer what most people respond, I am a twenty-three year old male, and am thus unlikely to be pregnant.
I was recently given a percolator for my office, and I am pleased with it, as it makes a very strong cup of coffee. However, since I am pretty young yet, I have always used modern coffee pots, and I don't know how a cup of coffee from a percolator is supposed to taste. The unit itself is indeed stainless steel, so that might be contributing to the taste, but there is no rust of any kind.
Is it normal for coffee from a steel percolator to taste like steel? Is this harmful? What should I do (barring "throw it away and get a new one") to get rid of the taste?

Let me tell you about my experiment.
I have two Florida turtles. They should be omnivores. But they won't eat any sallad leaves. When I give them cheese, they can tell it's not meat. I mean, they eat meat with much more pleasure than they eat cheese. To them it makes a difference where they get their protein from.
Is this evidence enough that say cheese protein has a different structure than protein found in meat?

I have decied to become a vegetarian but my mom says it's a stupid idea. We have no right to take animals that are wearker than us an then eat them, I mean how would you like it if you were killed and then chopped up into different sections then sold at Mcdonlds. If you think about it, it is over all wrong.
Meat products also use a lot more fosil fuel, water and soil to make that other foods. Meat is also VERY unhealthy and causes a lot of sickness like diabeates, you have a higher risk of getting cancer from meat too not saying that I don't like people who eat meat I just am mad at why people don't belive in it.

I'm making my list of foods to make, I'm cooking for 6 adults and 2 kids.
So far i've got mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, broccoli and cheese, squash with butter and brown sugar, stuffing of course because of the turkey. I'm also making a pumpkin pie and one other.
The usual boring dinner...
Give me some interesting ideas if you have any!
What kinds of things can i make ahead of time? And what are some good appetizers to have out before dinner is served?

The last time I went to a guests for Thanksgiving, the turkey was very dry.
I have been turning my turkey upside down in a cooking bag for the last 5 yrs to make the juices run into the breast so its more moist and flavorful. Is this all in my head or does it work?
I usually stuff the turkey with some homemade dressing with celery, onions, and maybe some oysters. I then put a rub on it with oil or butter and some salt and pepper then put it in a metal roasting pain with a turkey roasing bag upside down. I just thought gravity would run the moisture into the breast.
Do you think it works or am I going thru a whole lot of work for nothing? Its pure heck trying to turn that turkey over for carving every time.

Is it moral for people to come on to this section of V&V pretending to be vegan and ask stupid questions??

And why do so many people fall for it?? C'mon! Isn't it obvious to you that it isn't a real question?

And why is it that some responses get deleted and yet the TROLL asking the question continues to get away with this??

Is it because of Manson? I didn't think he was all that popular anymore. Or is there some other reason I am missing?

OKay everyone I am turning 21 very soon and i can not wait to go get plastered,I dont like beer I think it tastes bad, I do like drinks that taste good and dont have a bad after taste, anybody know of the type of drinks that would be best for me???
thanx!!
For the person that tried giving me the "lecture on turning 21 and being immature because I want to go out and have fun" that is the thing I want to go out and have fun, I work 50+ hours a week and I go to school full time, and always save my money for a change I want to go out and induldge myself in all the alcohol I can! muahaha, + this won't be even near my 1st time getting plastered, I had said that I haven't drank that much, I should have cleared it up by stating, I have never found anything I really like that much i usually just drink like smirnoff flavored drinks
I just want to be confident while ordern' at the bar
