You can get pitchers in just about any size from 20 to 64 oz. The standard for bars is generally a 60 oz, but there are a couple of bars in my town that use the smaller 50 oz size. The beer compnay ones that most bars use if they can get for free are the standard 60.

A standard pitcher will usually provide about 5 to 6 twelve ounce glasses. So about 60 to 72 ounces.

48-60. Diogenes is way off. Who buys a 32oz pitcher? That's a glass! Next time you're in a bar, check out the stamp on the bottom of the pitcher.

I'm a life long Astros fan and one of their toughest critics. 1. Roy Oswalt: A-, he's on a bad team and getting older. 2. Brandon Backe: C-, coming back from Tommy John. 3. Wandy Rodriguez: D+, only pitches well at home. 4. Shawn Chacon: D-, career 43-58 record. 5. Chris Sampson: C+, good sport starter but he belongs in the Bullpen. Overall I'd give the staff a C-. Rodriguez, Chacon, and Sampson belong in the Bullpen or on the Triple A roster.

Pitchers come in various sizes, however I think a standard bar size beer pitcher in the US, would be 32 oz.
