How do you make bread crumbs and/or cubes from a loaf of bread? Can you use any kind of bread, like whole wheat? Do homemade bread crumbs work well for Thanksgiving stuffing/dressing? How many loaves would I need for the dressing?

I don't drink. I have only tried a few things. Some were good and others weren't. I don't see the need for people to have parties where all they do is drink and hang out. I mean if you need alcohol just to have fun then where is the fun in that? Maybe it is just me. I mean if there is more to the party then yeah that is cool. BUT people just getting together to drink what is the fun in that? Bars, restaurants, weddings etc are different stories. Why can't some people just respect my wishes? I don't mind going to parties or out to eat where others drink. I just don't want the person I go with to get falling down drunk. I don't mind being a designated driver. Why can't people drink occasionally and NOT get drunk every time? Is any of that so wrong????? Comments PLEASE!!

I eat only beef, not any other meat (Pork, chicken, turkey, fish etc)? If a person can beconsidered a vegetarian for eating all meat except for beef, does it make me a vegetarian to eat no meat other than beef? If not, is there a name for this?

Am I the only person in the world who eats like this?? =P

I figured that if i want to convince my Dad to be supportive of my decision to be a vegetarian, i should have an educated response to everything he might throw at me. So part of that is groceries. I have done a great deal of research, and i know what is important for vegetarians. But i would very much appreciate answers from experienced vegetarians. What products should i buy? (i'm not exacty into tofu). What kinds of food and supplies should i put on my list?

I have a nice little rib-eye ready to be cooked and have kind of gotten out of the urge to cook, which I normally love, by the way (creative fun). So now I am still hungry naturally, but want to 'cheat' and make it a one-skillet dish. I have the rib-eye, onions, yellow squash, fresh tomatoes, red potatoes, fresh green beans, red bell, green bell, minced garlic in the fridge, all kinds of spices - (no mushrooms today).

WHAT ARE YOUR CREATIVE IDEAS??? You don't have to enlist all of the ingredients, they are just available. And you can suggest others, I may have them :-)

My springform pan has a glass bottom. I have trouble getting the cheesecake to loosen from the bottom. Would I have less trouble if the bottom was metal? I have tried putting parchment baking paper on the bottom or greasing it like the recipes says to but I am still having a problem. Any ideas?

I am going food shopping tomorrow, then going on vacation friday... what's something I can buy that's easy to make for the night we come back? It will be Sunday, so whatever I make would have to last in the fridge until then.

I'm just looking for some good ideas for an easy dinner... I'm sure you all understand that I want a simple meal for that night. :)

Thanks!

I love those Peanut Butter cookies that you press a Hershey kiss into and eat warm. We also do one where you take a graham cracker crust ( pie or baking dish ) and put in a inch or two layer of choc. morsels, another layer of butterscotch morsels and then top with coconut flakes, pour a can of sweetened condensed milk over the whole thing ( to bind ) and bake maybe 30 min's. @ 350 til the coconut starts to brown. My Grandma called them wall to wall calories. Man was she ever smart. If you make them , they harden a little too much for me the next day, so microwave them just a tad and ,OH MAN !!!!

I'm a vegetarian and making Thanksgiving dinner . . . I'm totally fine making turkey for my friends and all the sides which I've always enjoyed more than turkey - when I ate turkey - anyway. I'm not into Tofurkey or any kind of faux turkey, so I'm not going that route, but my problem is that every side dish I'm making is really carb-heavy . . . what are some ideas for some kind of traditional Thanksgiving side dishes which are a little less starchy? Or do I just cut my losses and carb it up for a day and enjoy myself?

Does anyone have her receipe w/sauerkraut and pork or beef which aired on her PBS cooking show in the last couple of months (I think). A friend told me about it and this is one of my most favorite meals, but difficult to find in a restaurant and I would like to cook it myself.
