Because if animals are being tortured, poisoned and killed for cosmetic items, beauty products and such, it's just downright inhumane.

In our modern world there are so many alternatives to animal testing. Not only are these methods more humane they are also less costly and have a higher accuracy rating making safer products for humans. Here is a site with some links to places that specialize in alternatives to animal testing.

1. It's horrendously cruel.
2. It dehumanizes or @ least desensitizes the ppl who do the testing.
3. Results obtained by animal testing are very often misleading-- look how often a drug is declared "safe" b/c animal tests "proved" its safety, but it is pulled from the market after humans have ill effects from it.
4. There are safer, cheaper & more accurate ways of testing products.
These are possibly the most compelling reasons, but there are others too.

They do sooooo many really bad things to the animals. Knowing full well that there are alternatives to animal testing. I still can't believe the things they do to animals, and I have known about it for probably fifteen years. Like sewing a chimpanzees eyes closed at birth, leaving him in a cage by himself for his entire life! Peta is a good place to look and see about animal testing. Also, there is the ALF. There are videos to see on both sights, but they can be pretty hard to watch.

Well, there really is no reason to test anything on animals. Animals are cruelly confined in cages, have stuff put on them, and do they really want that to happen to themselves? No. And anyway, humans and nonhuman animals are totally different from each other. We do not have the same physiology. A medicine that works on monkeys will not react the same way in humans. That is just some reasons I can think of right now.

I think it's downright cruel. The animals are innocent and did not cause our human health problems...why should they have to pay? We should have sympathy for animals, because we know they feel pain as we do.

Also, what do you think of saccharin labels on chewing gum wrappers that said, "Warning: This product contains saccharin which causes cancer in laboratory rats". They still SELL this product, so what does that say about their tests? The animals suffered and died for nothing. Do the companies that sell products containing saccharin think that those experiments mean little to nothing / the results only apply to rats / or do they not even care if you get cancer, too? It just doesn't make sense.

Here is a quote by Gandhi, which I think says it best: "A nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated". We ARE animals. I believe we need to treat each other and other animals with kindness.

In my opinion, testing on animals can never have a benevolent purpose behind it, because the act of testing on animals is in and of itself cruel.

For scientific alternatives to animal testing, please see the National Anti-vivisection Society and the American Anti-vivisection Society websites.

Because animals that we consume or utilize are sentient beings that feel fear and pain. Cruelty free is the way to be! Check out PETA's web site. I've given up using cosmetics that test on animals (Cover Girl is one brand that tests on animals). There's a list of businesses that don't test on animals on PETA's web site too.

The only reason you should be against animal testing is if YOU think it is wrong. If you need something to tell you that it is RIGHT or WRONG then you have no idea what your doing and your just following the pack.

You don't have to have a reason if you think it is right or wrong but it should be a choice that is made by your beliefs and lifestyle.

because these testings are in humane they put all kinds of stuff in the animal just to watch it and see how it reacts, the animal suffers as they all stand around and watch, it would be like throwing you in frount of a car and watching to see if you can get up and walk and if you cant than well we will just put you down

One, we might not react the same way to the things they test them on.
Two, it can harm them, animals can feel pain even if they can't tell us.
I'm not an expert, but I did find a couple of sites you might want to look at...
