i just feel like it will be alot if its 2 jars that are 26oz

That is 2 jars...26 ounces each...I imagine the ziti will soak up a lot of it! And it's layered like a lasagna...

It depends on the recipe, you can usually tell by looking at how much the recipe is supposed to make and the volume of other ingredients. As it is worded, the recipe calls for two 26-oz jars of sauce, for a total of 52 oz. It does seem like a lot, but since you're using a full pound (dry weight) of ziti, it makes sense. If you wind up with more sauce than you use, it will probably keep if you put it in a tightly covered container in the fridge or freezer.

Well it tends to read like two 26-oz jars of spaghetti sauce to me. If it feels like it may be a lot, but I'm sure there is a valid reason, probably because cooking with pasta like that and it being an oven dish, the pasta will soak LOTS of the sauce up. So you put lots of it on there so your pasta will not be dried out and you will actually have some sauce while eating. Sounds good!
