Actually, gelatin can be derived from a number of sources, not just pig. Gelatin is made from the boiled bones, hooves, and skin of animals. Any animal will do. That's why vegans and vegetarians generally don't eat gelatin-containing products like Jello and Gummi candies. There are seaweed alternatives (agar in various forms). The resulting texture is different, but if you want something jiggly, it works well.

There are some jello's that contain gelatine from pigs and cattle.

There are some that contain pectin or other setting agents that are suitablefor vegetarians.

There are many foods that contain geletin, why did you mention Jello in particular. To be honest, thats the most obvious one as the name jello is derived from gelly ( geletin )

How about wine, bread, yogurt and about 70% of the rest of processed foods.

Vegetarians check labels.

No. I'm vegetarian and won't eat it, but for a reason other than the fact there's animal product in it - it's DISGUSTING!
