Turkey rollups. Yopu get slices of turkey, stove-top stuffing and bottled or canned gravy. If you're really suffering financially have them slice the turkey really thin. Make the stove-top stuffing then take the turkey slice , put some stuffing in the middle, roll up the turkey, make how ever many you want put them all in a corningware bowl or pan pour the gravy over the top, heat about 350 for 20 , 30 minutes. Buy some spinach and/or instant potatoes and you have a meal. ou coulkd possibly buy 1/2 a pumpkin pie at the store and voila

Garlic mashed potatoes:
-Boil some potato pieces to soften them up
-In a separate pot boil 4 garlic cloves for every potato you are using. Many stores sell garlic cloves pre-pealed so there's no work there except for just cutting the little ends off. Boil them for at least 10 minutes, but longer won't hurt them.
-Mash the potatoes and garlic together or even better use a hand-mixer or kitchen-aid. The garlic will be as soft as toothpaste and very sweet at this point.
-While you are mixing, add things like butter or olive oil, milk, touch of salt, herbs like oregano (a little goes a long way). You can even melt some shredded pizza cheese in there.
By far the longest thing involved is peeling and boiling potatoes here. But the end result is going to have this kids demanding more.
Happy Thanksgiving.

1. Instead of a whole turkey, buy a turkey breast (they're big enough for a few people) or a whole chicken $4-$6
rub butter then season with garlic powder, season salt and bake
2. Box stuffing ($1) prepare according to pkg
3. Corn on cob ($2 /5 ears) boil 20 min
4. pkg instant potatoe ($1) prepare according to pkg
5. green beans ($1 /2 cans) cook in pan with little butter
6. tea bags or koolaid pkt ($1)
Voila! Thanksgiving for $10 maybe add $5 for a pecan pie (store bought since you can't cook) ;)

They sell a turkey that is ready to just put in the oven. It is small and shouldn't be too expensive. Cranberry sauce comes in a can and can be jazzed up with a few real cranberries. Pumpkin pie from a can is really not bad. Mashed potatoes and gravy (from a box).
Sparkling Apple cider will be a nice touch.
Not too fancy, but it's still special. Trust me I know what it's like to be broke.

Can you make meatloaf?
Just make meatloaf and use ground turkey instead of hamburger. Make mashed potatoes and stuffing (the box kind is fine), maybe heat up a can of corn and a can of baked beans and buy some rolls and a pie or cake (make it) - that's really all you need and a jar or can of turkey gravy.
1 to 2 pounds of ground turkey
1 to 2 eggs (1 egg for each pound of turkey)
1 to 2 cups of Italian seasoned bread crumbs (1 cup per pound of meat)
a big squirt of ketchup
Mix it all together and bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour, internal temp has to reach 180.
Happy holidays.
PS you can do it all for about $20. $3 for turkey, $1 each for crumbs, corn, beans, gravy, eggs, rolls, cake mix, icing, ketchup, $2 each for potatoes and stuffing, $4 milk.

Make a hash-brown casserole!
1 bag of Colby or 2 cheese blend "your choice"
1 bag of Tater tots
1 Lb of sour cream and onion dip
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
Blend all together "tots do not need to be thawed"
place in a 9 x 13 pan for 45 min at 350!!!!
It's a good old county recipe of mine that my mother use to make if you desire you could also use square diced potatoes hash-browns as well either taste great!

Bake a turkey or a chicken. Rub it with salt, pepper, and sage. Bake it in one of those oven roasting bags according to the instructions that come with the bag.
*Stovetop Stuffing is easy - follow the instructions.
*Wash sweet potatoes, wrap them in foil, and bake at 350 for about an hour. Serve with butter and some brown sugar.
*Soften a block of cream cheese, spread it in the bottom of a bowl with a spoon, cover with a can of whole-berry cranberry sauce. Top with chopped pecans.
*Simmer a couple cans of green beans with 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder and about a handful of sliced or slivered almonds.
*Look on epicurious.com for a recipe and instructions for "Apple Brown Betty" for dessert. It's easy and cheap.

ok well I have a good recipe for sweet potatoes and it's easy... you take about 1 sweet potato for every two people and then you peel them and all and put them in a pot of boiling water and salt (2-3 pinches for each potato) - you can put that much sugar in there too if you want... then you put some ground clove and nutmeg in there and some cinnamon ... once they're cooked you drain the water and then you put them in something and add a stick of unsalted butter for every 3 potatoes and mash away... then you add tons of brown sugar... you taste the sweet potatos after adding a handful... keep adding the brown sugar until you think it tastes good... then you put the cute little marshmellows on top and you cook in a 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes or until the tops of the marshmellows are golden brown... that's my absolute fave ... good luck

If you want some yummy food on a budget why not try a chicken instead of a turkey...although you may get some good deals on a small turkey...you can still have all the side items that make it a Thanksgiving dinner without the Turkey.
