It's a cooking device that can be from 18 inches to 2 1/2 feet across with a semi deep bottom used in Mexican or outdoor cooking even. In Spanish the word for it is diskco, I think?

If it has no sides then it could be griddle (Scottish). We cook pancakes on them.
