Food & Drink - 18 July 2007

I'm having a house party with about 200 guests friends and family teensn and children included. the last time we had a house party there alot of teens and some pre teens that were consuming alcohol from beer to margaritas to jack and coke. I and the other 3 hosts tried to keep a close eye but sometimes the parents were no help and some even were offended and accused us being rude and stingy, being a little drunk themselves. I would hate to have the same issue again and I dont want to have issues if any cops show up for watever reason I'm stressed. I tried putting a responsibble adult but he could't keep the children from drinking from their parents drinks. Please help me.

My son's school is having "ocean pudding" for snack on friday, but he's dairy allergic. I don't want him left out. I know how to make chocolate pudding, but I can't find a recipe for vanilla pudding. I thought he would like blue pudding (obviously vanilla pudding with blue food coloring) for their ocean theme. Does anyone have any recipes?

Ive never had a brand new oven. everywhere ive lived, even the house i own now had a used oven. I just bought a new one and my food tasted weird, kinda like the charcoal taste from a grill. Is this normal.

I'm looking for a specific bartender case. It's leather and holds the muddle, opener, zester, ball scoop, spoon, knife, and maybe a few others. The top folds over the tools and then you either roll it up or zip it I can't remember. An old friend had one and I'm trying to find it. I see alot of "bartender Kits" out there but I don't need the pour spouts and all of that extra crap. Can anyone help me???

Hi,

It's my turn to host a ladies night dinner party. Every month, our neighborhood ladies get together at someone's house for dinner. It's usually from about 7pm-10pm. Although it's not considered "formal," the ladies tend to get kind of dressed up (Skirts, heels, makeup).

I can't figure out what to serve. Most of the things I can think of are hot dishes and I'm not sure how to keep things warm for those 3 hours. Chafing dish? Crockpot?

Any menu or party ideas that are kind of fancy? I'm a casual jeans and t-shirt kind of person so I'm kind of lost when it comes to upscale buffet style dinners at home.

i want to go veggie. but i have to tell my parents and i don't know how they'll take it! any advice?!?! i'm 14, and i've always loved animals. i tryed to be vegitarion once but my parents told me that i wasn't eating the right stuff. so i was also wondering if there is like a protein pill or something i could take? i already like a lot of vegitarion foods, like veggie burgers & salads & stuff. i'm also worried that my parents won't want to cook two meals. i'm not a bad cook but i don't know many vegitarion meals. so ya thx :)

My wife had a cocktail at a place called the Dragonfish Cafe in Seattle that was supposedly made with silver vermouth and it made the drink look like liquid mercury.
